Yes your fuel should rise to about 1-3mms below the float bowl gasket

That is incorrect.

The fuel level is measured in relation to the bottom edge of the carburetor body.
The factory manual shows a drawing & it should be 3.0mm +/- 1.0mm below the carb body.

The 83 KZ650 has BS32 carburetors. The 81-82 KZ650 factory manual specifically states that for the 82 model to take the measurement from the bottom edge of the carb body: 3mm +/- 1mm. The info is applicable to the 83 650, since the 83 supplement doesn't mention the fuel check.

I think the clymer manual has failed a lot of people. hee. It's really a nuisance to use if you have a 650-CSR.

Ok guys I got some new problems . About 30 seconds into changing my spark plugs I realized the ends were different on them although they are the same plug (see picture below). The plug wires don't fit on the new plugs. Also they are 2 piece plug wires. I can take a picture if you guys don't know what I am talking about. Will newer plug wires fit the spark plugs?

Also, why in the world can I feel the electricity going through my plug wires. I put my finger on each one to push them down on the the plugs well and I could feel the pulse in each one. Normal? Lol.

that top piece unscrews so plug wires fit.some plug wires need it on
1983 750 spectre,all stock almost 16,000 on it on 1980 Suzuki gs1000l

might have to put pliers on it then turn the plug

Success. The bike is still running funny. I gotta get the tube to make a sync and some more tube to check gas levels I. Carbs. I think I might have a valve tick to :/

Also looking at where my plug wires connect just before the plug I found this on number 3.
