Sounds like someone installed Torx screws, I HATE those things.

Are they bad? I've never worked with these before. They look easy to round out...

Before trying to remove the old carb holders, this is one of those cases in which I'd probably try to get my hands on some Kroil penetrant - apply the stuff & give it time to work. At the least I would use LiquidWrench penetrating spray lubricant & give it time to work, letting it sit overnight or longer.

Also, get a quality torx bit (or whatever type of driver is appropriate). Cheapy torx bits fail miserably - don't ask how I know. doh.

The good news is that maybe the carb holder screws haven't been in there that long, so with any luck they'll all come out w no real problems... fingers crossed.

Thanks for the heads up, oddly they were super easy to get off. 3 weren't even torqued down. Just finger tight. I got everything on and letting the internals to the carbs soak over night. Will give an update tomorrow.

Ok guys. Got the bike fired up today. With choke all the way out it idles at 4000rpms on the second setting it is finally staying on and idling at 1200rpms and on the last notch it dies still... No more vacuum leaks. It's running a lot better. I think I found how to sync the carbs (if any one could give a yes or no that would be great) I added a photo of it. It is really small long needles that feel spring loaded. If its not how I sync my carbs can someone just tell me what they are? Also upon inspecting my big jet (the small gold screw with a hole in ít that is the bowl) I read 107.5..my friend said that this is high. Any ideas? If anyone has any suggestions as always they will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure of the correct size of the main jet for the 650 however it's likely if the main was replaced, the pilot was changed too. The pilot jets control your bikes idle and low rpms and could be causing the problem

Main Jet Size: 102.5
Pilot Jet Size: 15
According to the internet this is what your jets are supposed to be
