If not already done, would inspect the timing advancer to assure it isn't hanging due to rust or whatever. Perhaps the weight arm pivots need lubing.Tj_saxon wrote: Yea sir, I've got it idling at 1500ish rpms. It's idling fine (ish). It's just when I rev it, it takes so long for it to wind down. Kinda like its sticking and slowly releasing.
The advancer's not supposed to look like this:
Good Fortune!

Good Fortune!
You should use an impact driver to remove the engine cover bolts & the pulsing coil screws. I use the hand type - insert a proper bit, put it in place on the bolt, then whack the end of the tool w a hammer. You could spray some penetrant beforehand. See photo below for details to remove the advancer. Or reference the manual.
After removing the advancer, separate the rotor from the body to give it a good cleaning, then lubricate it. Be sure to fill the groove w grease. I don't know the best lubricant. White lithium & dielectric grease seem to evaporate, leaving the advancer dry after a period of time. I used high temp wheel bearing grease the last time. Install a new gasket afterwards.

On a different page the bike makes a weird sound while riding under throttle. It's like a whirring sound. It doesn't make it holding the clutch and just coasting but as soon as I start to let off the clutch I can hear it start to come back until clutch is fully released and then it's back to constantly making it. It increases with throttle.
