Just spray it on both sides of the gasket?

And wat else to do/taking care of when the head is of?
Because I am planning to do it only once

yes both sides.

depends on the condition of the head once you remove it.

if it wasn't giving you any signs of other problems,
just remove and replace.

Just to be sure.

If I use a one piece gasket do I not have to fill the grooves where the oil ring used to be?

hello wiers

in my opinion one piece head gasket plus copper coat gasket.
in the o-ring area you can use an little thinner o-ring.
in my cold rolled steel company we use "endless o-rings" in different diameter.
these o-rings will cut to the needed length and glued together with super glue.
i would go this way.

Wiers....that copper spray sounds like good stuff
Scirocco....I believe that the superglue trick may not work when used in a motor.....heat (especially the highest found in the head) will dissolve the glue. Do the O-rings you have glued where you work need to withstand any heat?

Gluing o rings happens more often than you may think.
It is commonly done on Harleys at the pushrod tubes
which see a good much heat .

What I wanted to say was, when i go the one piece head gasket way i do an additional safety
to prevent oil leaks.

some specs

Viton®, Tecnoflon®, Fluorel®, Dai-el®

Fluor-rubber, Fluorcarbon-rubber +200°C

Parafluor®

Perfluor-rubber, Perfluor rubber +260°C

it is common practice to fill the o-ring groove with silicone and let it set up then using a razor blade cut it level with the block surface.
then install the one piece gasket .
