I moved a small cross brace because it was going to interfere with my CO2 bottle and regulator that I still needed to mount at the time. The first pic is of my '78 1000 just to show a "before" pic of the stock cross brace location.
To mount my CO2 bottle, I went to a swap meet a couple weekends ago and found some really cool machined aluminum clamps for $4/ea, so I bought a couple. I didn't need the smaller clamp part so I cut the clamp and used a bench grinder and files to get a nice profile.
I welded a couple small tabs to the frame that would be sandwiched between the two clamp halves and the bottle is mounted.
Next up is fabricating proper passenger peg mounts and a new rear M/C mount as I don't like the one I made already.

I just need to make sure my building/fabrication momentum doesn't slow down like it did last year or this bike will never get finished.

I still need to press the extensions all the way into the arm as well as have the arm jigged and the extensions welded in. I also need to round off the corners and try to get them to the same curve as the arm itself so everything blends in.

Did you reuse the R1 axle? I have a Busa axle and it's longer than my swingarm is wide by about 1" so now I'm not sure what to do for an axle?!

what about cutting the end with the flats on it off and shortening the axle and building a new nut with a through hole so it could be slid over the tube and then tig welded on the outside?i think if it was mine i would prolly do it that way,but it would be my a$$ sliding down the road if it failed  .just a thought,

Picked up a Ducati Monster front fender. I think the slimmer, smaller fender will make the front end look beefier and help tie everything together to the old school bodywork.
Now I just need to make some tabs to weld onto the fork lowers. Anyone have suggestions on how thin/thick to make the mounts?

in my experiance with air shifters anyway the biggest issue with air shifters is keeping pressure between 120-130 in the tank to make shifter work right, remember co2 soaks up moisture like a sponge if you have access to nitrogen id suggest it.That 9oz. CO2 bottle should be good for about 200 shifts without refilling! I'm trying to make everything fit under the seat and behind the sidecovers. I think it should all fit underneath there....
I just need to make sure my building/fabrication momentum doesn't slow down like it did last year or this bike will never get finished.
