I cut off the ignition switch mounts and had them machined as close as I felt comfortable with. I also had the steering stabilizer lug milled down as I won't be using it.
I still need to take some files and sand paper and finish up removing the rest of the unneccessary material but at least its some progress.

Waaayyy back on page 4 and six months ago I had posted pics of the chain adjusters cut off of the Gsxr swingarm in preparation for swingarm extensions. I finally squared the ends and then notched the ends so when I get my extensions machined the arm will be ready for them.
Ends squared and cleaned up...
Notch laid out...
Rough cut...
Filed to perfection...
Both sides ready for the extensions...
Up next is the mounting of my 13 row Earl's oil cooler. I've had the cooler for a good while but I had to wait until I got an exhaust so I could figure out where vertically the cooler had to be mounted.
The cooler didn't come with any mounting hardware....go figure. I went to Lowe's and picked up a 3' length of 1.5"x1.5"x.125" aluminum angle and cut it to size, drilled and filed holes for the cooler inlet/outlet's to pass through and four holes to run long bolts to sandwich a similar bracket for under the cooler.
For a clean look I'm going to run the lines up under the tank and as you can see from the picks the -8AN 90deg fittings fit like a glove.
I haven't finished a bottom support yet but it will be run from the horizontal brace between the front engine mounts to the middle of the bottom bracket.

u may want to mount the fork tubes and check for clearamce. It looks ok in the pic, but i know it was an issue for me. I have the same cooler. if i mounted it too high, the forks hit the cooler.
Just a heads up bud.

I had the the forks mounted when I figured out where to put the cooler, but I took them back off so I could get everything assembled and tack welded. The fork tubes will hit the tank before they catch the -8AN fittings. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I left off 5 months ago with needing a lower oil cooler bracket and stay fabbed up. I finished it finally. I welded a tab to the cross brace between the two front down tubes. After getting the lower cooler bracket remade so that the everything was where it needed to be I made a simple yet effective stay.
I also finally got a offset sprocket for the front. It's a 19T which seems large but it clears everything. The nice thing about the bigger sprocket is that the chain shouldn't lay on the swingarm as much.
I did run into a problem and I don't think it would have mattered what size sprocket I planned on running. The crossmember for the upper shock mount is too low and the chain can't make a straight run to the rear sprocket when the suspension is even slightly compressed.
It kind of hurt to do it but I had to break the tack welds for the crossmember and notch it using a piece of left over crossmember tubing.
