Leon,

If I remember correctly it's made by PBI. It's a 530 pitch. I went to Norwalk for the AMA races and there was a vendor that had a bunch of sprockets. I didn't see anything I could use so I asked him if he happen to have a 19T 530 pitch, 5/8" offset sprocket with a nose to fit Kz splines. He went into his trailer and came out with an old cardboard box full of dusty sprockets still in the packages. He dug a little bit and pull that one out.

I have no idea if you can still get a custom sprocket from PBI or not.

I was way off! The sprocket was made by Suncoast Enterprise or at least that's what the package says. There is no part # just writing from a marker that says "19T 530" on the front and "Kz1000 Gs1100" on the back.

I got a little more done this weekend.

A while ago I mocked-up and fabbed an oil catch can to fit between the side cover and behind the battery box. It turns out that it weighed alot becuase of all the pieced required to fit in the limited space and then have the volume I wanted.

This past week I had a random but brilliant thought. I'm going to run an extended arm which leaves me space in front of the rear wheel. I briefly thought about mounting a catch can in that open space until I had an epiphany. Why not use the crossbrace on the swingarm and build a catch tank with it? I still have to get some -AN bungs for the fittings and a filter to let it breath. I did a rough calculation and it should hold about 1.5 pints.

Test fit...

Little closer...

Closed in...

Once the arm is powdercoated black it will almost disappear.

A small update but an update never-the-less.

I'm planning on running an air shifter but I didn't want to mount the cylinder in the convential manner. After some brain storming a couple weeks ago I found a spot that was out of the way and yet was still innovative. The only down side is that I had to remove the sidestand bracket. I wanted a lighter stand anyways so it worked out OK.

Sidestand bracket gone...

I can't believe that the engineers couldn't come up with something lighter than a big piece of steel...

Ground down and smoothed where the welds used to be. Like the sidestand was never there...

Now for my airshifter. I haven't quite figured out how to attach the cylinder rod to the shift linkage but I think it'll be relatively easy. I'll probably weld something on to the plate where the rod end attached to the pedal. The frame mount is just 1/2" steel rod drilled and tapped to 6mmX1.0 thread. The fittings will be to the inside (toward the frame).

As for the sidestand, I picked up a stand and bracket from a '07 ZZR600 (older Zx6R).

Here's what I started with...

I cut the bracket and got rid of the provisions for the safety switch...

And did the same on the stand itself...

I believe it was V&H that did it but I seen a couple racers install the air-shifter under the motor. They welded the shift-shaft mounting bracket to the shift shaft right after it came out of the motor. Mounted the shifter under the motor and unless you knew where to look, you couldn't see if from the side. Had an article on the bike with pictures of the area and it was still hard to see. You're idea is great also and I will try to remember that mounting idea. Are you hoping to run at an AMA event this year?

Thanks for the compliments.

Racer, I'm gonna try and make it out to Norwalk....again. I've set that as my goal the last two years and you can see how well that turned out. I'd like to get everything for the chassis together and if I need to put in the stock 900 engine just to get it moving I will.
