I think the small black from the rectifier is supposed to go to chassis ground. Normally it goes the the seat lock.  All small gauge black and black/yellow are ground. The only positive black is the heavy gauge from the starter to the relay.

That thin black wire on the same terminal as the thick black wire... Does that thick black wire go to the battery or the starter?

Thin black from rectifier goes to chassis ground. Heavy Black is positive for starter.

The thin black wire that goes to the rectifier will need to be on the large relay terminal going to the battery. Not the large relay terminal going to the starter.
That starter terminal only gets voltage when the starter button is pushed.

Mikaw,
Kawasaki throws you a curve ball at the starter relay.
The 12v positive coming from the starter button is black.
The ground is black with a yellow stripe.

Thanks, this bike is missing the seat lock, one other part I need to order. So which wire should go where? @F64 what about the loose wire at the bottom I have taped up?

Here’s another schematic. Showing that black is chassis ground.

Mikaw,
I'm only dealing with the starter relay right now. I want to get the bike started first.

The rectifier is not tied into the relay directly.
It can be, but Kawasaki did it differently.

The rectifier has a white wire spliced in with the white wire after the fuse and a black wire going to ground.

Rscone,
Where does the loose black wire go?

I understand but you can’t put the black from the rectifier to a positive. Direct short. The way his bike is currently wired the rectifier black (ground) is to a 12 positive.

Ok, I removed the black ground wire from the starter relay. It does have the length to reach the seat lock where it appears is a screw hole for it to attach.
I am attaching photos of the plug it is from and I assume is the rectifier(gizmo) :)
