hey thanks for keeping me in mind fella's!
my stepson managed to get his truck stuck half in the driveway and half in the street friday.
after his mother told him not to drive without calling and telling her he was on the road. :X
i guess he thought that he could get home and grab one of his video games and bail before we got home.
so when i try to pull him out i managed to send our 4x4 tahoe into the ditch sideways.i was standing in nut deep snow trying to shovel it out :blink: .
after a failed 4x4 yukon attempt to get me out,another neighbor came by in a one ton diesel 4x4 extended cab ford and had to jerk the crap outta me to get me up outta the ditch.then i got my stepsons truck out and wedged back in the driveway.

i was woke up yesterday morning by my dog barking because the neighbor had got his fourwheel drive chevy stuck in the ditch next to his drive.my wife hollers at me while i am still pretending to be asleep and say's"frank is stuck in the ditch".i'm like are you kidding?i have to get out of my warm bed and into my cold clothes and into the cold tahoe and go across the street and get in the snow.sheeez,gotta help your neighbors tho.

i hooked up to him and said "i am going to have to jerk the cahcah out of you to get it out,cause that was the only way to get our tahoe to move".he goes"i guess we will be okay unless one of these bumpers comes through our backglasses".:blink:

i jerked him out,too many smiles and thanks.
i am sick of freakin snow.
before any of our more northern members tell me to suck it up.i would like to remind them that a few days back we had seventy degree temps and was riding our bikes :ohmy: .

just remember that they were cooled after welding the stem to the bushing in a freakin snowdrift :woohoo: in oklahoma buddy.

wow.....

the neighbors daughter in law would try and drive out our little side road and get stuck like three times a winter...no shoveling a path or any effort...just drive into it and get high rised on a hump of ice with a little kid freezing in the bronco....guess who would be out there on hands and knees for an hour....then shovel tire rutts down the whole street and into the five driveways...

sorry you guys are getting nailed...it is fun ,but then it starts to become a cost and a hassle to be snowed in ect...drive safe

+1 They usually sell aftermarket "tie-rods" for most modern bikes. There's one bolt hole on one end and 3 on the other for adjustment. You could make a set yourseld buy you need to press in steel bushings and use quality materials.

where you welded on those tabs to the frame I wouldn't box them in but rather make 2 triangular gussets for each side and have them pointing towards the outside of the frame. This way you don't interfere with travel from the rocker arm (triangular linkage).

To figure out your wheel travel just remove the spring from the shock and work the suspension full extended to full compress. back off the preload rings then there should be a sleeve on the bottom that you push up and remove a wire retaining ring, then the sleeve and spring can be removed. Nothing like getting it all together and hitting yourself in the ass with a 180 tire. lol

or i can just adjust the preload of the spring. i dont need a trampoline under my ass. theres no reason to take the shock apart. Larry said 5.5" of travel with stock setting and a 150lb rider. my setting will be way stiffer than shock. also, here in fla the roads are nicely paved and flat. i was going to put a rigid on the bike, so with that in mind any suspension is a plus in my book. thanks for the info though.
