ok, since i am looking to end up with a semi street fighter look on the bike i was wanting to kick up my rear fender. this also gave me more clearance for shock travel when it comes to the frame and rear tire gap.

Hey Joe, make sure you put the seat on too while you're doing that. Where you cut the subframe will make a difference how the tail piece and seat fit together. I'd hate to see you have problems because you made a mod without all of the pieces of the puzzle ;)

Even if you're not using a factory seat, the seat pan is going to fit the chassis the same as a stocker. You can mock up with the seat you have have, then swap the seat out when you get a replacement.

Dont know but, in pictures I think your going to end up to low in back?may want to install side covers to look at how they sit on there as well .if height is an issue can you have the seat cut down?like the direction of bike just dont want you to get it all together painted and all to find tire clearance becoming an issue.

A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest...

When you get the front end bolted on, do a mock up to see how things are coming together.

Get the cases back in the frame with the block and head on them. Mount the carbs. Put the header on. Put the chain and sprockets on. Sit on the bike....

I'm curious to see if there's going to be any swingarm to engine case clearance issues.

Get the bike as "together" as you can and look for problems.

heights not an issue as it sits. nothings written in stone. waiting on triples so i can slap the front on. i def will not be using this seat though. damn ugly. also, the side covers have been on with no issues.

Larry, i took a grinder to the swingarm where you told me for case clearence. cases have been in allredy, just took em out to put in the new rear motor mount/arm tube. i will get the front on, then cases, jugs, head, and headers before i go any further as a mock up. thanks.
