"how did u attatch the speedo inside the cup ?"...

Long story short...
* The inner plexi glass opening is cut/filed for a snug fit for the gauges (Upper left images).
* The outer plexi glass opening is cut/filed for a snug fit for the inner cups.
* Insert the plexi rings, and E6000 them into place.
* Paint and cure.

* Insert gauges and E6000 them into place (Inside cup side).

Voila!... ;)

95% done on the wiring (included new L/S power panel w/Fuse block) then onto head cylinder clean and hone... Then the carb clean out and bench sync, especially # 4...

She's coming along nicely!

That E6000 adhesive is really good stuff! I used it about 20+ years ago to glue down a rubber strip on my garage floor where the garage door hits. It's exposed to weather all year 'round and you still couldn't remove that strip with a jackhammer if you tried. Ed

Yes indeed on glass/smooth surfaces as well...

Another thing I luv about this stuff is if you do have to peel it off, with some finesse it will stretch & peel off in one piece versus RTV that breaks apart...

Shit truly is amazing... ACE hardware carries it, ~ $6 a tube... Black or clear.

And believe it or not, if I remember correctly it came from our brothers up North, Canada! :blink: :laugh: That should start some word wars.... :laugh:

Whoa......... New invention out these days, called a printer.... of the parts fiche file.
:whistle: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

All I did was record what bolts & sizes/threads went where. I also used this when comparing SS bolt kit listings insuring I had everything I needed... Not really a big deal... Card board pattern idea works great no doubt. Same time, this worked for me...

Besides, both of my basket case KZ's had a mix matched set of screws/bolts holding them together so came in handy...

As for the Sunlight on the gauges... I've been running the Acewell Speedo/tach for the last couple years now, no issues for the characters/numbers are in black. The volt meter is analog, again no issues. Unknown about the AF/R gauge but not worried about it for this will mostly be beneficial during tune ups/jetting/emissions and occasional glances during rides for where she's burning...

It's all good...

OMR,
You might want to consider adding the dimensions to the drawing on your computer. I bet you could sell copies of it on eBay to folks who have torn their engines down without recording anything on paper or on cardboard and to folks whose kids have pulled the bolts out of their cardboard templates. :) Ed

Ahhh.... both of those groups of people would be better off if they never touched tools :kiss:

Back to subject matter....

Wiring panel & harness... Still have some final heat shrink tubing and tie wraps to complete but not until all electrical/running up to specs.... Later... Basic electrical operations such as Headlights, speedo/tach indicators, horn, turn signals w/LED relay, tail lights, break lights all operational.

Left handle bar switch is interesting concept.... :blink: :woohoo:
Switch to "H"... = Left Turn
Switch to "L"... = Right Turn
Kill... = Horn

Nice work Dave.
so is the new gauge sitting on top of the old, or did u dissect the old to keep the bottom half ?

Yes, we do make that stuff up hear in the great white north. many of us empty the little hut out back behind our igloo's and send it to the factory for processing monthly. that way we dont have to chip another hole in the ice each month.
