As Larry knows, I have been debating this 1015 vs 1075 build, trying to think out best way to go due to still have to build out the 78KZ1000... Was hoping to use the 903 cylinder (0 broken fins) for my baby and keep the 1015 chipped fins for the stock build...
All in all you guys suck in spending my $$$....
Great time to try & quit smoking...
But we LOVE YOU so..... and will....until you get fat, dumpy & wrinkled  Then we'll dump your sorry old ass for something young, tender, moist, tight, toned, etc.

as long as the piston to cyl clearance is good , just rehone to 45* and go. worrry about a power motor later, when funds allow it .

Yup....
Ran a ring through the cylinders and measured end gaps... All measured to specification so FLex-hone should be good... Fairly cheap, figure I'll use the 70mm again down the road so way to go for now.
I figured was running a 1015 previously 10.25:1 compression and in using the stock 8.5:1, I'll be loosing some minimal BHP where at my age/riding style for most of the time and such... Won't be noticing that much of a difference.
Then I had to consider just how freaking hot it is out here in the summers, higher compression just not be the way to go... Still debating this one but hey, over analyze crap is what I do for a living... Larry cringes.... :pinch:
And if I do, tough shit deal with it for now, save some $$$ and go from there w/1075cc. Being top end only, then 1 day swap is a no brainer.
It's all good...![;) ;)](/media/kunena/emoticons/11.png)
@ Larry, sure, treat me like a used jail house whore... you bastard...

Is there any middle ground between 8.5:1 and 10.25:1? Maybe deck the block and use a thin head gasket?

Hey Davey. Wake up ![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
have a question for u bro.
when u switch to the new throttle, does the new throttle have 1 hole the same size as the kz throttle cable, and 1 larger hole? if so what is the solution for the cables? i have some modern switches that have cable holes like this.i could use 1 if i had a cable solution.
r u still going with this 1?

Dave,
What size fittings did you run on your oil cooler setup? I currently use americanclassix.com/kawa_improvements.html (Billet Style Oil Cooler Adapter) and rubber lines in conjunction with a Zephyr 750 oil cooler
I saw that you use the two piece set. Reason I'm asking: I want to update to your system from Earls, but I don't know what NPT fitting will fit the adapter that I have. Help/Suggestions?

Marky... suppose to be the same size but I haven't really confirmed yet... DOH! :pinch:
i'LL LET YOU KNOW SOON...
-6AN on the cooler adapters is what you want... I screwed up when ordering -8an and that is why I have the "Blue" reducers..
Here you go Marky....

Cool, thanks. Last question: Did you order a specific length or just buy 4 feet of each length and cut to fit?
Looking forward to seeing your bike on the road again. Fantastic job...

@ local HD specialty shop here in Phoenix, had 10' length 3/8ths braided oil line with chromed clamp ends (4 each) for $50... Couldn't beat the price... ![;) ;)](/media/kunena/emoticons/11.png)
Cut to length, good to go...
