Thanks, it is a street bike. No plans for racing yet, but who knows... Been thinking about a track bike. I'd probably build something cheap that I can toss around without caring too much. I've been looking at some old GPZ 550s

Very sharp looking bike you have there. I hadn't seen this thread before. Definant inspiration for a future project. I bet you get comments on that bike any time that you stop somewhere.

Thanks, yeah it does get comments. This thread is old, started 2 yrs ago when I finished the major rebuild. As it's an ongoing project  I thought it should be an ongoing thread as well...

Thanks Mark. I like those discs too, but I will end up not using them. They have about the same offset as a standard Z1 disc and the big calipers I bought won't clear the spokes.
I will be using the rotors below on custom made carriers. The carriers I designed have 34mm offset and these rotors are 1" bigger which will help with spoke clearance as well.

That's a rear disc Mark, not a floater. But it'd be easy enough to make a carrier for a floating disc and rivet one on. That's if you have a cnc of course, although you could always make a trick spacer on the lathe and just use plate I guess.

Porchev, I wish, but I don't. I found this place
www.emachineshop.com
I downloaded their software and went to town.
Mark,
I suppose you could if you measured everything correctly. However, if I were to use a modern floating disc it would be easier (and much more cost effective) to pick one up that has a center and machine an adapter plate, like dgfischer does.
