I don't know Mark. Moriwaki makes a pipe that has small collector dia like that, actually I've seen a few high end Jap pipes that appear to have small dia collectors.
Thanks for the encouragement. The cool thing is I have some dyno charts, so we should be able to make a decent comparison!
i didnt know there were modern pipes with small collectors. i never have noticed the size.i guess i amused it would be more obvious? cant wait to here the results.
does someone have a program that they could extract the pipes dimension, from this pic?

No program but I think you can safely assume the headers are close to 1.5", looking at the collector it's not much bigger, I'd say 2"-2.25" maybe.
my Kerker has a collector ID of 2 5/16"(od=2.5"). i have not come across anything smaller as yet, except for a Bassani. it has a double walled collector. the inner collector is 2 1/8"id(3"od outer collector). i dont understand the there behind the design ,it goes against the logic that the megaphone uses.

Mark,
Having a reducer right where the primaries merge makes sense, this would keep gas velocity up. The 3" outside pipe is just for looks then and slip fits onto the 3" tail pipe, I suppose. So I could see that as an attempt to boost mid range. A better design would be if there was a tapered transition to the 3" tailpipe from the collector, rather than the (effectively) small collector dumping into a 1" bigger tailpipe.
Is the hole I am seeing inside the collector the end of a primary or is there some kind of baffle plate inside the collector?

I scaled the image based on the assumption that the front and rear wheels are 18" and that makes the part of the collector just behind that little bump about 1.9"

Thanks Leon, I don't think I've ever been called that before

I have never had 1 of these in my hands so i can only speculate. this pic came from 1 of our members who posted it in my header post. that hole it seems to be the primary . it is possible that the outer pipe is just for looks? maybe heat reduction? and i would like to know if the tail end has a dual wall as well. i should have asked at the time ?
It sounds like u may be right on the money at 2".
Your rotors look killer .
