I just happen to hit pay dirt with the combinations, that's all it is.

Dont forget about power:weight ratio and gearing - way more important in different types of competition than hp.

The gearing on the old CSRs' could easily reach 60mph in first gear just past redline. With a nice set of high performance valve springs and a sprocket change-over, it really surprises people ;) Trust me

Cant do that on the LTDs' - different gearing/tranny all together.

B)

Internal gear ratios are the same in all the J motors, save the 83+ GPz11. J ratios are not the same as KZ ratios. CSR and LTD, J motor bikes have identical internals.

 You're right, I missinformed, as I was comparing bikes of different years.

81 CSR (M1) J motor, very different from the 79 LTD (B3) KZ.

I should know

happened upon 3guys riding litre bikes, one suzuki one kaw and I couldln't tell the other one.

I started goofing around and blew by them in low. These guys looked like they came sraight from Japan. Those bikes were 3 of the nicest I've seen. Must have been brand new. Tires wider than houses.

We were all stopped at a light (they hardly acknowledged my exsistance) the light turned green and I took off before all of them. The one little guy on the suzuki started to gas his bike so I gassed mine and his passed mine and his front wheel went up pretty far. When mine came on the cam it started to close the gap but he was already bringing the front end down and we both eased off.

I got a tasted of the crisp, instant response those bikes have. Never raced em since we were in city limits. At the next light an old guy on a harley pulled up and nodded to me like show em.

At the turn of green I moved to the right lane and brought up some rr's lifted the front up and set it down, then shifted to second and gave it some throttle and it popped off the ground again.

Those bikes seemed erie fast. Some serious power bikes there. Wish we could have been out farther to see just what would happen. I found out some things about the carbs lack of instant response and how to use them. They need to be open slowly and like to see about 7 on the clock, then they release some viscious hang on tight power. That's where I'd like race them.

LIve and learn. Hope when the day comes they don't waste on me too bad.

My motor has a longer stroke so I'll get to see if that will help at different mph starts.

those dinky little people are so light too.

Mine unleashes quite a pull so I'm game for every trick I can use to stay in the crowd.

Like to have that instant any rpm jolt of power when I need it. That's half the battle when racing these bikes, they jump like frogs out of the hole and then it's too late.

Well see how much torque I can muscle out the bike and how it stand up to what THEY have.

I have a feeling it's gonna be good.

Keihin makes 33's I think.

Boy with a carb like that....... I could rip some serious road.

Tomorrow is another day. 600's it's like your picking on a kid.

Things change and you grow. BETTER STRONGER FASTER HARDER!

Like the bs carbs because they get me through the power band and ready to shift FAST.

The acceleration is very good. The motor pulls through to redline with alot ofwheel torque.

That's what I wanted and now to find out what's needed to play around with big bikes.

I'll get it done.

I'm not sure you "Follow Yourself"...

Definition: "DownLow" = The Scoop = The Answers = The Who's who = The Secrets of Speed ="What Is"... Therefore YOU ARE...

Byron Hines = Vance & Hines = Freedom Motorsports = The Engine Builder with more Race Wins than your "Uncle Larry"...

You know what they say Nads... Just cause' yo Head is Shaped like a Hubcap, it don't make you a "Big Wheel".
