If all that was done to ur bike was CRs, I doubt that u would be pulling away from ur buddy--u have a modded out scoot--is his modded or stock?I think u and Nads should meet up somewhere and run pink slip for pink slip and 1000 dollars. That should clear up a LOT of issues.Lol.bjOld Man Rock wrote: Breath Nads, Breath....   Awesome, glad it worked out for ya...
Well I know one thing about my dinky drinking straw 29mm CR's, when I pull away from my buds KZ1000 with his 34's, he sure wishes he had my CR's.... Of course he flips me the bird...
Maybe I've had it all wrong, Who wants to trade their BS34's for my CR's?

Well skater boy, maybe you CAN'T rollerskate in buffalo heard.
But you can't play in the big leagues with 96 horsepower either.
Hate to break the news to you but for all the mods on Daves bike, the cr's the head work, seems it didn't fare all that great on the dyno.
And otakar if you still have that stumble, you shouldn't even be talking.
My check has been through the bank.
And 160hp is a goal you'll never reach and neither will I.
My bike flat out moves, plain and simple.
It has over 100hp easy.
NO offense Dave! But with the cam timing you guys run it can't and therefore won't make the horsepower and torque.
WHY?
Ok Larry wasn't it you that said of you want to make more power SPIN it faster.
Well?
How about the charts you posted where the small motor made MORE power with the ported head at a higher rpm?
Do I live in a place where that doesn't happen?
I don't live lies I tell the truth and I'm a good judge of that truth.
Next time I race I'll let you know exactly what happens and this time I want a litre bike.
That bike eats up road and turns mph like the pure bread animal that it is.
This is not a deception, it's a fact.
How the heck do you guys think I would know?
Because I've raced the rockets in the past and if that doesn't tell me where I'm at ....
Reality is this bike is a mean warrior and anyone on a rocket will condone that.
I just happen to hit pay dirt with the combinations, that's all it is.
The sun shines on a dogs ... every once and awhile you win the lottery, etc.
That's all it is.
Still can't believe the bs carbs are supposed to NOT be big power adders.
Then to find out there only 31mm????????
Hate to say it but another piece of reality is I NEED BIGGER CARBS!
Always wondered how other bikes ran these big carbs and everyone always were saying,
anything bigger than data data and you bog, lose the signal data data, BULLSHIT!
What are you guys LIEING to us?!
Whata crock of ...T!
SO.
I have spoken. And don't get me wrong I'm not angry. Things just aren't making sense and I'm starting to wake up. I hadn't done what I have to the motor in my bike I wouldn't have a clue as to what you can REALLY do.
And the way to do it isn't all of what I've heard I'll testify to that.
But I'm having fun and learning alot.
So if anybody tells me it won't work or you can't do that, I'll cover my ears but keep my eyes open to pick up clues along the way. You guys helped me find a way to do that.
IT's done! the bike works and happens to have a good amount of hp.
SO what. It's all in fun and recreation right?

Ah jeeze here we go again... :pinch:
1) as written in my project, the Dyno results (actually 86 HP) was accomplished within first 50 miles, held at no higher then 8 Krpm due to new build (non broken in) and the CR's weren't even jetted yet. Is was $5 for the Dyno at a shop promotion and I was more interested in finding where I was in the AFR measurements then anything...
2) Stock KZ900 Dyno is ~ 68 rear HP. To increase to ~ 96 HP "didn't fare well"... What planet you living on for that's a significant increase in HP in a street build... In my book anyways but that's just me I guess.
BTW, Bring your high performance KZ out here in August (110-115F @ 30-40 humidity), bet it won't run for crap....
3) "How about the charts you posted where the small motor made MORE power with the ported head at a higher rpm?"... I don't remember posting such charts.... Larry had some comparison charts of different Dyno measurements off ported heads on his website if that's what your speaking of...
My buds 1000 is similar in many ways where displacement @ 1015 with mild performance cams such as my build. His was ported by who knows who, mine well Larry of course. He has BS34's that work very well on the higher RPM's, on the lower end they just don't pick up and go as the CR's do...
Sorry but there is a difference where bigger isn't always better... Depends on what your looking for in performance....
My understand pretty much the same with the RS-34's... Phenomenal performance in mid to WOT, not as crisp in the lower end rpm range... Do they still operate well of course... Being they are designed and classified as RACE ONLY carbs, kinda makes sense where this is where the desired performance is designed at TOP END rpm...
Now if Mikuni only made a 30mm RS series... yummy for our/my smaller build especially since I don't race this bike on a track....
AH well as replied, happy your up and riding... Now wheres the pictures of this beauty?

Dave. That is a good amount of hp increase as you said! The bs34's on my bike start out from the time the clutch is released so I don't see the problem there (on mine anyway).
The other day it was much higher humidity and 100deg. The difference I seen with the bs34's is they don't seem to change with the weather as it gets warmer. Seems like they like that hot air.
The 28's on the other hand were soggy when it got 80deg. or more.
I tend to forget the crank vs rear wheel hp. The increase you got is very good indeed.

Dont forget about power:weight ratio and gearing - way more important in different types of competition than hp.
The gearing on the old CSRs' could easily reach 60mph in first gear just past redline. With a nice set of high performance valve springs and a sprocket change-over, it really surprises people Trust me
Cant do that on the LTDs' - different gearing/tranny all together.
