What size Piston kit to run with Mr Turbo kit

Hello all What size piston kit would you run with a Mr Turbo Kit on a 1977 KZ1000 LTD. I was thinking about a 1327 MTC kit. Did not know if I would have overheating issues or not since the compression was low on the turbo pistons. Any Help Appreciated!

Cylinder wall ridigity and cooling should be your biggest concerns.

I know if I go with the 1327 kit I would have to get a big block. Is anyone runnnig a 1327 Turbo? I want this for street not drag. Should I opt for something smaller?

I run a 1075 MTC piston set on my Turbo bike.. 7.8 to 1 ratio purchased thru Joe Hopper at Pit Stop Performance in FL.
I sent him the cylinder block and he bored the holes for each piston based on their actual individual size and gapped the rings too

Cant beat his prices and I have had excellent service

Next you should think about having the cylinders o ringed and use copper head gaskets , APE studs and nuts We can talk more if you need advise based on over 30 years running a Mr Turbo kit.

I just sent the cylinder block to Joe Hooper. He recommended the MTC 1197cc Kit . Along with getting the Crank welded and indexed. He is also going to do the Transmission. Going to have the Head redone by Larry C. Going to order the Mr Turbo kit next week. I have been wanting to do this since I was 18 years old. I cant wait.

1197 in a re-sleeved stock block is about as big as you can go and still hope for any kind of streetability....it is still going to heat up big time - get a big oil cooler on that somehow....ask Street Fighter LTD about all the do's and don'ts of running a turbo street bike (special considerations like never shut off when turbo is too hot, what oil to use and change how often, etc...).

Check out Old Kaw Man website, specifically his words on performance modifications and oil cooler installation.

Larry C's cylinder head work is a very wise choice....do as he says....

In the late 80s I knew someone who had a 1978 Z1000 with a 1400 big bore, turbo and nitrous, it made 236 bhp, he's probably still got it but I haven't seen him since 1989.
