Be careful what you buy for $8. It cost me $500 for my Wiseco's and I know they will last plus if they are stock they will be low compression or the wrist pins will be 18mm not 17.

It not hard to measure a piston with caliper and engine guy can bore each cylinder for every piston.

What's the CR of the $8 pistons. Reuse rings.

Its not the $8.00 pistons that are the problem, its the $50.00 or so a hole for boring that gets ya.
And if the rings are shot it just mushrooms from there.

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

You can go to 73mm with MTC or Wiseco which is 1105cc but it leaves the liners on the thin side and prone to excessive oil usage and spigot cracking.
Fitting the 1100 (1089cc) block is common practice for a cheap upgrade if you can get a good set but maybe not so if just starting with the s/h pistons.
If you get the cheap 1100 pistons you will still HAVE to buy new rings, circlips, and possibly wrist pins and then the gaskets etc. (all of which are included in an MTC/WISECO KIT )
The price of those OEM parts will not be far off or will most likely exceed the price of a complete new MTC or Wiseco kit and you still end up with a less than perfect job with std comp part worn pistons and no significant performance increase.
False economy.

There was a thread here about a set of new pistons and rings for $100. The problem started when the OP asked how the rings were installed. No instructions and the seller wouldn't disclose the name of the manufacturer or contact information. He had two threads on this subject. One he listed the name of the seller that drug KZR into the controversy. Threats of law suits were made and eventually the thread was taken down. The other remains because it doesn't list the name of the seller. It turns out the OP didn't own the bike he was working on, he was doing it for a client who he then gave back the parts and bike then moved on. That was the end of it.
After looking into these unknown make pistons, I could tell they would be low compression at best and the only advantage I could tell was the displacement increase they would provide. Given the time, cost of boring, gaskets, etc, it would have provided little performance wise and in my book a waste of money. Add to that if a ring was broken while installing them or a miss hap while running them, no replacements would be available. The unknown origin and history also made them a gamble IMO.
Riding a motorcycle is dangerous enough and using CHEAP parts is just asking for trouble. IMO

Recently I paid $60 for boring 4 cyl Toyota block. Maybe bike block needs steel plates attached for boring.
