One of the members has accused me of not being truthful of my build. Being I will be going back into my engine in the near future, I will photo document it.

The sleeves were out of the 750 motor. The bore was still good when I replaced the cast pistons. They were damaged when I lunched the one piston. Notice there is no groove at the bottom of the sleeve as there would be if they were bored out 900 sleeves. Not much but it would still be there.

The billit pistons are shorter and lighter than the cast ones.

Here they are for compareson.

The one in the front is a 903 piston

The jugs are just under 2 mm. The bores are scored but the problem was they are pitted as well.

That's why I bought the 1015 block and pistons. Good thing too, I'm running them now. Light hone and back on the road.
I'll be adding more pics of the items I've "claimed" to have on the bike. When I get the block off, I will show the infamous 750 crank shaft. What the deck hight is now and after the 10.25 are installed.

When I adjust the valves again, I'll show the 1X cams.
To those of you that are tired of this, please skip my thread.
More to come.

WOW! years back! When I worked with Jim Mangus "Top Fuel Kawi 4 Cyl." a "Puppet" chassis from Buffalo, NY.
Jim has a Cylinder Head Business, He did a lot of heads for Harry Massey, Southern Ontario, for the 3/4 midget Guys. Before the GSXR engines. We used to get alot of the Z2 750 engines. That was the Max displacement 750cc's.
We used to de-tune 900's take out 1 piston. For these 3/4 midget racer's. But they always heated up and blew the middle out. The Z2 750's ruled for a while.
But, I recall a whole lot of parts that came our way for the Z2 750's. I can't believe I scrapped cranks and rods from them, thinking they were wimpy and small??????? Go figure? I wish ebay was around in the mid to late 1980's.
I remember the Japanese Z2 750, there was one at the local track for awhile. 77-78? A white painted one, Guy's name was Ed. He crashed it and got hurt. Never seen or heard from them after.

Maybe you would know what markings would identify the Z2 crank. I plan to take pics of the crank throw and rod markings. I remember seeing a number stamped on the crank and cast markings on the rods.
Yeah, I threw away a lot of stuff too. This was the first and last Z2 I've ever seen. Not much known about it. I thought about weighing it but it didn't occur to me the rods would be shorter. The deck height looked good with the 10.25/1 pistons so I ran it. From 1987 to now, SURPRISE.

It's been a pleasure contributing. I've been learning a lot too. Just wish something like this existed when I was 18 and bumping my head and learning to work on my bike. I did have help. Barry at Handy Cycle and a Kawasaki dealer in Hollywood. B)

Here's another page to add to my poser file.

It was like Xmas. Polished everything I could, just waiting for parts.

I didn't get the springs and was talked out of the copper head gasket. Then I found I had to buy pistons. Another $500.

the Z2 crank has stroke of 58 mm .it was used in the Z2 750 WITH A BORE OF 64 MM THAT MAKES IT A 746.4 CC MOTOR.if your bore is 70 mm that would make it 892.9 cc see original post on Z2 750 CRANK :P
