This is a 496" bbc thats getting slightly detuned with a streetable cam and some good tuned up oval port heads .
It will be going in my old 65 chevy c60 dumptruck,Its going to be painted chevy orange with a set of stock bbc chrome valve covers and a stock looking 396 turbo jet air cleaner with the 396 sticker on it.
If anybody asks Im going to tell them its just an old 396/325 with a little bit of a cam. :P
Im really looking forward to see how far I can roast a set of old bias plied 20x8.25 duals on the back of that thing connected to a truck 4spd and a 2 spd rear axle! :woohoo:

I had a few Corvettes and a V8 Mustang.
When I pushed pedal, I wanted to throw up.

Was a huge car fan from age 14 to 23 then the money went away....... chance I'll still be getting something but no where near those beautiful big blocks....... repairs, insurance, up keep etc is what scares me..... wife had to go to work in a nursing home just to make ends meet so I wouldn't feel right draining that...... work a 1/2 day or two a week during the summer helping a friend but its not quite enough..... keeps the bike going though. ;)

Last 7-8 years have been a real roller coaster, mostly medical issues that Ive learned to deal with.
Im finally getting my freaking head screwed back on straight enough to function in life ,The plumbing/mechanical contracting business has been doing a lot better since i dont spend all my time in a diabetic fog. :woohoo:
So its time to get back to enjoying life and building fun stuff.
I know my reflexes/reaction times are too far gone to be able to strap myself on to any hell bound missiles,(too many freaking strokes)But that doesnt mean i cant have a really good time still building/fixing stuff.
Lifes short, eat your desert 1st boys! :woohoo:

That sucks. I too lost a lot of time but in my case it was depression and the damn recession. As you get older you realise there is not much time left to lose. The bike brought me out of my funk and it sounds like you have the right attitude. Keep it up. B)
