A light hone won't buy you anything. Check the piston/wall clearance, top middle and bottom. If still good, use a coarse hone for a good cross hatch. You want them to seat immediately. Lube the pistons and walls.
Make sure everything is correct before trying to start it again. I suspect you overheated the rings by trying to start it for so long.

Gonna try to lap the valves tonight. Have rings and gaskets on the way.

What is the clearances? That looks too light. I did mine on purpose because I plan on putting my 10.25/1 pistons back in as soon as I get one more. I'm burning a small amount of oil. I will give it a course hone then. I didn't want to take out material this time around and the rings are used.

Helicoiled a couple of cam cap bolts. Man worked nicely! Swest the cylinders appear a little glazed cause I put a thin film of oil on them so they wouldn't rust by next week when the rings get here.

Lapped valves tonight. I think they turned out ok. They aren't perfect but I think they will be fine.

The seat looks a little big. They will work. Can you measure them?

With my cheap plastic caliper I think they are slightly over 1 mm not closer to 1.5 mm. What would you use to clean the grooves out of my pistons? I'm thinking some sort of oil and a tooth brush. Just want to make sure they are clean and clear before the new rings

Yeah, I was looking at it and the seating area is pretty high on the valve. That should mean the shims could be in the high end say 250-280? That would great.

Hope your right. I will re measure once I reassemble. Waiting for rings and gaskets. Most right now are between 280 and 265

That's good news. No uneven lines? This time if it won't start with starting fluid, It's got to be electrical.

No lines were all nice. With 4 stuck pistons rings and lapping these valve I should achieve what compression I need for it to run
