Don't go over 4000 RPM in 500 miles. Shift up and down using the power and for breaking. Don't baby it but don't thrash it ether. After 500 miles, ride the piss out of it. :woohoo:

Well I have smoke coming out of my left pipe so I figure 1 or 2 cylinder is leaking oil. 150 psi comp all the way across. So I would say rings and valve seats are good. So did I blow a valve stem seal? I also have oil blow out of the left reed vlv.
Any ideas before I pull the head? Also I have about 300 miles since rebuild and number 2 cylinder plug gets black after a short ride. All others are nice and tan. I have a total of about 300 miles on it now.

Oil soaked #2 plug. Oil out of the air valve on left side. Excess carbon on #2 exhaust valve. 150 psi across all 4 cylinders. What am I missing? Valve stem seals looked ok.

Does the smoke abate after a few minutes of running?

I would look at the carb for that cylinder before pulling the head. You have good compression accross all 4 cylinders. Check the cheep / easy things first.

Yeah, you might be washing out the rings. One carb may be flooding. It could clear up if corrected.
