I need everything that goes in the head, including both camshafts, all the
cam towers, all the bolts, bearings and dowel pins.
That way when you get the head back, all you have to do is bolt it on."
whats a dowel pin? when i removed the head i just put all the hardware in a bag. i am shipping thw whole bag to him, but whats a dowel pin look like?

nope, i m not saying that.....when you get your manual.....read that thing one end to the other as far as engine rebuilding.....there are a lot of little things that have to be right.....ie:when you put the oil pump back in the rubber seal has a beveled edge and a flat edge...it has to go one way or you will be sucking air....i am not trying to talk you out of this, only letting you know that you are not gonna blow off a bowl with your buddies and start working and have success...

biggest thing is checking bearings and making sure rods are all in line, welding it is the easy partthanks plummen. when i get there ill go over the crank. waiting on the manual. all i have is time. right now i am focusing on getting my head out, saving for a piston kit, cleaning and bead blasting cases, and while i am saving for my piston kit, refinishing the bikes frame.:woohoo:

i hear ya, but i wanna know what i have now.id figure on a 1075 kit to clean those bores up,unless you find another stock block/pistons
Stock 900 cc measures 2.598 inches.
Buy a set of stock 1015cc pistons. About $25 a cly. to bore at an average machine shop.
They sell 66.5mm pistons also,about 966cc.
Or buy the APE 1075cc kit with .410 cams and springs.
New cly block, matched pistons, ready to bolt on. $1000.
About $250 for the headwork. Then put it together. $1250 investment. Put a new HD cam chain also. Up to $1300.
You wanna play? you gotta pay!!!
hey man, you might wanna try using that line on someone who is frightened by spending $1300 bucks.
i guess the 1300 is coming on the 1st and 15th of the month....:woohoo:
