My bad- That's the HONDA that is $779. Boy I'm glad I don't ride those things. :P

Why? With 9" Xenoy Wheels; GX Series OHV engine; Infinitely Variable Hydrostatic Transmission; and Shaft Drive I'm sure they make very nice tourers. :P

i've ridden both long term and the kerker was just a better looking design and felt right with my Z1 ...plus it was the best sounding pipe for a 2 valve kawi ever made...at full tilt...you can be heard many miles away for sure..kerkers can be run cleaned out of restricter tube inside and the cap just bolted on too very nicely.......MIne turned all rainbow for about foot from going 125 all the time... ...but it really looked the part and it held it chrome the best of any pipe i've ever had...shined up VERY well...the vance and hines chrome seems to not have the exact same quality of brightness,or craftsmanship ,even when well polished imo.....BUT!!!!!

and this is a big BUT!!!!

the kerkers touch on anything that is bigger than a slight speedbump....mine got flat spots on the bottom and it was suckey to have to maneuver city streets and apartment lots the way the pipe "needed"...most other systems are less fickle on touching down imo...and at 550-750....i would wanna tippy toe till it got dented for clearance clarence....IMO.....

Bottom exhaust pipe clearnace ~ 4" on mine.. Now keep in mind, I have 17" tire in my ZX6 conversions...

Not to mentioned I'm not 6'9" @ 275 pounds...

Not that I would ever trade in my Kerker, fell in love with that pipe 30 years ago so she's staying but have to ask....

With a V&H pipe, stock tire sizes or not, what is the clearance?

Ok, to me anyways, that image depicts more than a Kerker scraping... That says a rounded object hit such as a rock or something otherwise the adjacent pipe would be almost the same... It does depict slight impact as well but....

And Craiggy, I'm in no way bitching about the Kerker for that would just be truly insane for me, there's no other pipe that was going on my beloved... Luv ya man...

V&H quality... We've all read about it where chrome flaking, new installs requiring dremel tool or filing to get the exhaust to slide over the coupler area, drilling/elongation requirements of the mounting holes etc... Assumption is this would have been resolved Yes/No?

Interesting for Steve and I were just speaking of this Kerker vs V&H just the other night... His input was he has had both and the V&H was an Ok pipe but it didn't have the same sound or feel for that matter we all know of as in the Kerker...

Twingy/pingy sound or something to that effect on the V&H... Didn't seem to have the same response, pull... you name it...

Ah well, all in all, KERKER is the only way to go in my book especially on a performance built engine... Sure a tad bit more $$$ but hell, what isn't these days for performance, sound & quality... And are some of us a tad bias, well yes we are... ;)

Any of the 4-1's with a 'square' collector will have ground clearance issues. They all have basically the same clearance.

We dropped V&H due to the company being just awful to deal with. The last straw was a shipment of 10 pipes where 7 of the pipes had some type of issue - and then it took over 3 months to get all the relacements in - all the while V&H had our money for the pipes... Over a period of several years we experienced over 30% of the pipes having issues stopping us selling them - dings in mufflers, poor chrome, header pipes massively out of alignment, mufflers that won't go on collectors, missing emblems, and even rust on a 'new' pipe. So unless you buy from a company that takes the time to INSPECT each pipe, you are just rolling the dice as to whether your V&H pipe will be good or bad...

I personally like the performance of the V&H. The Kerker is a better pipe at wide open throttle, but I think the V&H has slightly better throttle response at lower RPM. Having said that, I'll never put a V&H on one of my bikes until V&H fixes their issues.

Reality: V&H will be dropping all these older pipes - and so will Kerker. Kerker has already reduced what's available for the older bikes. Of the 10 Kerker pipes we'd routinely sold in the past, only 4 of those are still available.

As Dr. Saunders has mentioned...at this time, V&H no longer shows any 4into1 pipes for sale on their website...they are done with older bikes...Kerker is soon to follow, so if you want a Kerker w/out dents on the collector  better buy one very soon.
