And everyone else's ears. I had a chance to hike up two peaks today in the Sierra's and at one spot while admiring the view on both sides of the pass I then got to listen to 20 Harley's serenade me while rumbling on through on the highway down below. I sure hope they were safe cause they certainly were loud. Glad they were not riding my bike, the deer may not have realized that the herd was coming through.

Best of luck pulling your baffles.

They should at least put up warning signs for motorcyclists on those re-conditioned roads. I'm going to date myself but does anyone remember smudge pots? Before the flashing road signs we had smudge pots they lit at night to warn you of road problems. Loooong time ago.

I remember those but soon after they went to the flashing lights so I guess that makes me a little younger

I only remember them from books and other road related literature I read as a youngster. By the time I hit the road flashing lights were the norm.

Put a smudge pot out these days and some moron would think it's a bomb.

Love to, but gotta keep my ears open, hate to run into a bear. :)

Gotta say, watching the fog drift over the mountains was pretty cool when standing at the same elevation. Also it was pretty cold. Still, it was nice when they were gone. Nothing against Harley's, I'd have had an issue with a truck, sport bikes, unbaffled KZ's, etc. Too nice a day to ruin it with a group of riders determining who leads the column based on how loud their bike idles. Had 2 dirtbikes out in the same area and they were barely noticeable. Unlike some of the 4-stroke mx bikes I've heard across a valley while on other hikes. One of nice things about getting out is getting away.

Here's one on-line source for the "imagine" t-shirt. Perhaps also other sources.

If loud pipes save lives, imagine...

Good Luck! :)

Wow. Real simple, his bike, his business. And you'd think nobody had ever seen a hotrod? We all ride for different reasons. He has his.

And I'm sure when he buys bikes for all of you, he'll make sure they have baffles...but for him, it doesn't . Sheesh.

1)If people were blowing around with Hot Rods all day long, for one, the Arabs would rejoice because of the fuel consumption but noise is noise whether it comes from 2 or 4 wheels.

2) So his reason for riding is to make rude noise?

3) He can buy all the bikes without baffels he wants or pull all the baffels he wants. The point is he can only ride them in shrinking areas, so by all means go right ahead. I do hate to see nice bikes rendered useless, unsellable or limited in their usefulness. Don't make much sense to me. But he is free to do that. He is just not free to infringe on someone elses freedom or quality of life just because he wants to. Nobody can just do what they want to with no regard of how it affects others.
It takes 6+ pages because some cannot put themselves in the other persons position. They just want while the other needs. There is no "the want's of the few out weighs the needs of the many.".

Are you an open pipe guy? If so do you get alot or grief from neighbors? Just curious. I had a competition baffle on my bike and I would get stares in my neighborhood. I have since quieted it down quite a bit now the neighbors wave...Russ

Loud pipes are illegal. Tearing the tag of of a mattress is illegal to. I know I know the mattress tag does not annoy the neighbors but is illegal just the same.
