anyone here have a bike that runs?rode this month?

Sugarloaf??? I live in Arlington and go through MD all the time, (beltway to Baltimore mostly), and I don't know if I've ever gone out that way. Once I get my bike in one piece, we should take a ride out to skyline drive. I'm thinking I'm probably going to have to wait till Feb at the earliest.
As for the Route 66 ride I was talking about earlier. I'll have a better idea around January whether I'll be able to do it. I was just told I am being let go at my job at the end of this month. So I have to get a new job, and get parts, before I'll know anything about it.
I might have to do early fall, but I'd still prefer spring. Time will tell.

Those are the guys that I call road warriors! I'll drive my truck, ride my bike, or take the metro in. But I don't think I have the guts to ride a pedal bike all the way in! There are way too many people who don't know how to drive respectfully around here.
I'd take my hat off to him, if I wore one.

good question...they are era aftermarket higher end ones for sure..unless someone knows better....i have seen a set old shelf but new on e-bay for 120 buy it now and the sellers were calling them some fancy name...they are wicked and other than my not being smart enough to tighten the right ones linkage,(spins and needs reset after 65 mph)...but reallly they are just as good as a good set of rectangle shaped ones i've had....the have some dampening designed into em , that makes the left one so cool(it works at 125mph some ) but imo the better kz shaped knock offs on a theme like this would be better and not spin so gosh darn much

Mike i had one of those for a year...baby blue like a chicks bike...lol......wider aluminum rear laced up and bars and homemade rearsets....it was so good at so many things and ran better and better''''and better... like an old wine.....great bike.....long in the tooth when it came to me, and beaten by more than me and well beaten by me...it would still do throttle second gear walk ups with no clutch and no mods..stock with an airbox and 4 into 2's, hold the throttle and crunch down, it would stand up in second at 25 mhp...old stock p.o.s kz1000.....yours is tits...mine sucked..it was awesome

I had big plans for this '78. I had already purchased the wider rear rim, the fork brace, the marzocchi shocks, the aluminum swingarm, steering dampener, etc.... Was going to be a cool little road racer. Sold most of the parts in a money crunch...

Got a chance to pick up a wrecked 77 LTD 1000 that is OK except for the forks for $500....might make a good road racer project....modern suspension, etc.... It was running excellent before it was crashed....running from the police as a matter of fact. Problem is, I already have 2 projects in front of it. Too many bikes, not enough time. Got 3 runners out of 5....not too bad, right?
