anyone here have a bike that runs?rode this month?

i got an idea...lets have a website for folks who actually ride kawasakis ....we could name it after those riders...heck....lets go out on a limb...we could even have the word rider in the fucking name...

why not...it might be fun

then folks who actually know how to put the fucking bike in gear and are at least smart enough to be able to to not crash once a year..those guys.....the ones who came to this like ducks to water...the true riders...the ones who tore these things into the ground when it was still fucking fun...in first place...those folks...you know the kz.....rider types...the ones who own a fucking bike that runs


lets have a section for their posts ...a new section maybe we could call it...only post if you ride the fucking bike topic...

I wish I was riding. I bought my bike, and 3 weeks into riding it, I had to tear the engine apart because of a noise I heard. I'm glad I did, kinda, because when I finally do get enough money together to get the parts to put the thing back together, I'm going to see how many miles I can put on it. I put 90,000 miles on my last bike in 3 and a half years... I'm going to try to at least tie that.

It's finally cooled off enough to ride during the daylight hours here. I have ridden my KZ every day this week. Count me for one.

We have wild fires burning all around. Smelled like a barbeque all the way to work this morning. You just don't get the smells when you take the truck to work.

I rode a zx6r on Saturday for the first time ever. It was the morning of my daughter's wedding, and all her college friends were still passed out from the party in my back yard. It was early, so I took advantage of the no traffic on our back roads. Scared me a little.

Does this count, even though it was one ride?

What a rant...
I know it wasn't pointed at me, just because I have 15 bikes - 9 that actually run and of those 6 that are ride-able, out which most will have some issue along the way, since they are 30+ yrs old and fucked up... even if they are pristine.

so... to answer your question, yes I ride my 2003 Z1000 with fuel injection all the time. I push the button and it starts... it rides, it never brakes. I must ride at least 10 miles some days, and that is more then the 4 mile round trip commute I take with it.

If I take another bike out, I'm sure to have someone with the key to my van standing by for a call. No, I never had the need, but shit what can go wrong in 10 miles? Oh yeah... a fuel filter crack, a carb gets clogged and revs the shit out of the bike at idle, maybe the battery is dead, since all I ride is 10 miles at a time... but what the hell.

so... yes I love my Kawasaki barn. I love the CBX more, but that is always fucking up when it hits fresh air. I seem to stick with the Z1000 and dream about the new 43mm forks with a almost 31" length that will be affixed to one of the bikes sometime in the future when I pay someone to help, since I am to busy working or dreaming about working on a bike.

Besides... I'm tooo old to keep riding like I did when I was young! Shit I used to take my old KZ1000 with the thought one of us won't be coming home. Why the fuck would I do that now... before I find out I'm terminal? I have a barn of bikes to work on!
