I have a Japanese rising sun doo-rag I sometimes wear to jerk the chains of the Harley folks. :)

I'm not into doo-rags, but if I were, that rising sun would be fun. :D

They are out to sell bikes... period. The market shows them where to go.

I had one of these. Just stock though. I rode it 2100km (1300miles) to the Americade rally in '05. Passing at highway speeds (50-75mph) was a blast. The seat, footpeg, handlebar ratio was off for me, despite attempting aftermarket parts, so I traded it in for my beemer (on the way home from the rally!)

The interesting thing was HD riders ignored me, and jap cruising riders couldn't get enough of 1700ccs of fun.

Sheep! BAAH! BAAH! BAAAAH!:S

There's no way that bike can compete with an 1800 GoldWing. MaKaw will continue to fill their small assigned market share with this one, nothing more.

You know, I believe that MaKaw is afraid to go head to head with Honda's Wing.

Oh well I suppose they know their place in the market.

Offering a stylish alternative to traditional V-Twin tourers, the new Vulcan 1700 Voyager combines Kawasaki reliability with the performance, comfort and amenities that long-distance touring riders demand.

Stylish ALTERNATIVE to traditional V-Twin tourers ???

Hmmm....maybe a mistranslation from the original Japanese copy....or, if not, are those copy writers on bad glue ??
Harley-saki ??? For sure, IMO.
Lastly....why wouldn't they use the 2 litre Vulcan engine/chassis ?? Everyone knows bigger is better....right ??

I still say the attraction boils down to noise and its attention getting factor (kind of like a 2 year old's temper tantrum).

Just a bit ago while going to lunch there was a guy on some old Sportster based chop who spent the entire time wanking on the throttle while sitting at a red light. Then when the light turned green it almost pulled itself through the intersection. I guess his protective equipment of a button shirt flapping in the breeze leaving a lot of skin exposed was enough since he didn't seem to be able to go too fast. :D
