WELL...this V-Twin makes my mouth water...so there!!!
WTF ??? That logic behind that kind of thing escapes me completely, assuming there IS any logic. I'd rather ride a city bus than ride a bike?? like that....and I HATE city buses.
After seeing that pic, I'm truly convinced we are apporaching the "end of days".

Ya All forgot the Marauder,Hi JR,
Sorry Guy, but there's nothing about the V Max, not even the slightest, that's similar to a V Twin!
In the performance bike vein:
Ma Kaw made the KZ's
Suzuki made the GS's
Yamaha made the V Max, among many others.
In the V twin vein:
Ma Kaw made the Vulcans.
Suzuki made the Inturder. Later the Boulevards
Yamaha made the Viragos. Later the V Stars.
Honda is in a special class by itself having set up the whole Hardly Davidson admiration society with their:blush: Shadows. :X
KZCSI
Later: It was actually the Yamaha's Virago that came first ( 1981 ) and the Honda Shadow that came later ( 1983 ). Kawasaki followed in 1984 with the Vulcan. Still the whole mess is Honda's fault for choosing to name their V-Twin the shadow.:woohoo:
Does anyone need to ask, Shadow of What????

- Blue handles better
I think it would be more righteous with a J motor, though.

So....does that make it a "pit" bike ??? Or maybe a "pit of a bike" ?? Or a new "crossover" style of bike??
Nonetheless, BBQ or real, I hope the guy that built it did it as the biggest send-up/put-on/leg-pull in the history of custom bikes.

But seriously folks, the V-twin is for sheep following the wolves, old schoolers like the nostalgia, newbies follow, and non-mechanical types that don't know any better like the simplicity coupled with lack of power to displacement ratio.
I like inline fours, the best bang for the buck. One of my old friends who rode a Harley once looked at my Z1 engine when I had it out of the frame for glass-beading and said "That is a weird looking motor" and i beat his ass every time we roll from a stoplight! enough said for the Harley riders.
My wife however does ride a V-twin. 1989 Honda VTR 250. the benefits for her are, It is thinner than an inline, and It doesn't have enough ass to put her on her ass and she likes it. Personally to me its like riding a buzzing sewing machine, that bike is so light weight any gust of wind makes you feel like your wheels will come out from under.

I know what that smoker looking thing is, It is that new Republik of California Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve that we will all have to add to our bikes by 2012.
It kinda looks like a steam-powered machine...
