"This is the latest e-mail from shoe's wife on shoe's progress, he is moving forward:

Good Morning,
Daves surgery went well. Both fingers are splinted so he has little more use of his right hand. Dave is still in a great deal of pain
but that will be for a while. We are hoping he will be moved to a regular room today to start his therapy even though he knows it will
cause more pain to move he wants to come home as soon as the drs will allow. I pass on to him all the replies I get from the updates.
We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

I want to thank xsyamahadg from Ride Ohio MC and Mid-South UJM for keeping everyone up to date on Dave by passing along Sheryl's updates. I especially want to thank Sheryl for taking the time during this stressful time to email the latest on his condition and progress!

Good Morning,
Dave is in really good spirits and doing little better each day. He was able to maneuver a walker about 2-3 feet today (great start)he will be moved to a rehab floor today and which will begin aggressive therapy. He should be home hopefully in 2 weeks or so. Thanks again for all your prayers, Sheryl"

ANYONE WANTING TO SEND DAVE A CARD PLEASE PRIVATE MESSAGE ME AS I DON'T WANT TO POST DAVE'S HOME ADDRESS ON THE WEB. HIS WIFE IS STARTING TO GET CARDS FROM OTHER BOARDS HE BELONGS TO AND PUTTING THEM UP IN HIS ROOM AFTER HE READS THEM. HE'S GOING TO BE THERE A WHILE YET SO THEY SHOULD GIVE HIM SOMETHING TO LOOK AT FOR SUPPORT!

"Here is the latest on shoe. For those of you who have asked about sending cards, letters, or gifts, here is the proper address as sent to me today by shoe's wife Sheryl:

Good Morning, Dave got moved to the rehab floor Thursday afternoon. The drs. say about 10 - 14 days of therapy and he should be able to come home and do out patient closer to home. He will have 2 hours therapy in the morning and then 1 hour in the afternoon. He is allowed to have cards now in his room if you want to send a card the address is:

Dave is coming home this Friday! Still in a lot pain but that is all part of the healing process. Time will heal all things.
We are just happy he is able to come home and continue recovering. We don't know when he will start out patient therapy yet. Thanks to ALL our family and friends everything you have done for us and all your thoughts and prayers."

That is excellent!! After my accident I was so glad to be home, my wonderful wife (Janna) took great care of me as I'm sure Daves wife will take great care of him. Great to have you on the road to recovery!!!:woohoo:

I didn't like hearing this after how well he was doing, let's hope for the best!

"Bad news this morning, shoe has experienced a set back:

Good Morning,
I wish this was good news but last night I was up and wanted to see his leg before coming home today and I am very glad I did his foot / leg is infected. They are 90% sure it is cellulitis. They did blood work last night and started him on 2 different IV antibiotics. I talked to two drs and I want answers. If the infection doesn't respond to the antibiotics Dave will be going back into OR today to clean it out. Thank you so much for all the cards / thoughts and prayers. I will continue to keep you updated as soon as we hear anything.

Praying that things will be turned around so Dave can continue on the path of full recovery. Sorry you're having to deal with this setback. I have faith that the drs will be directed and will know what to do.
