GOOD NEWS!!! HE'S HOME!! (Shoe48 (Dave) hit by a car!!!) UPDATE 6-16-08

His wife said he was riding the KZ750 cafe close to home doing about 40 mph when a car turned in front of him, he had no time to react. He was life flighted Saturday evening from Mansfield Ohio's Medical Central to Cleveland Metro due to the severity of his injuries, he has two broken fingers and a badly broken femur in his right leg and severely lacerated ankle. Shoe made it through surgery in good shape. He has pins and plates installed in his right femur, two broken fingers were set and his lacerated ankle addressed. There was some concern about his heart and kidney functions, but that has been resolved. At this moment he is back in the Intensive Care Unit and will be moved to a step down facility as his condition improves. He will need substantial recovery time and a lot of his friends and family behind him.

As soon as he is out of ICU, I will post an address or some manner to send him your best wishes, I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from us.

A lot of you might know Dave through his thread about his cafe' bike build here, I have ridden with him and consider him a friend, get better fast buddy!

Damn I hate to hear that. Please keep us updated and tell him we are all thinking of him.

Oh I hate hearing this stuff. I do know what he's going through. It's going to be tough but tell him to hang in there.

The first thing I think of,when I read about a member(or a friend) going down(once I know the person IS going to recover),is,"what about the bills,during the recovery period?"...if he or she has no insurance to cover the house-hold bills,etc.

Keep us posted,Rage,and if need be,I'm pretty sure some of us could help out with a donation,or a loan?
Most people DO have some type of insurance,but what if you don't?
And what about the waiting-period BEFORE the insurance kicks in?
Pretty sure,if need be,we could pool together and help out til things start rolling in his favour.
