She hasn't ridden since the last flag hand off down to Fresno, and as HER bike was working, she took advantage of the day and rode around the block and down town just a little bit. It was good to see her back on a bike again.
Be safe brother.
Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

Yes Sir. I'll get after it this coming weekend. The front sprocket is an 18 off the top of my head. This size combo gives the same ratio AND physical size of the OEM 630 chain set.Sorry, the ride did not go as intended. I know you will get it sorted!

So the maiden voyage of Mrs. slayer's newly refreshed '81 GPz1100 was a success on most every front! After stripping the bike down to the frame I left a few details to be wrapped up:
1). The left side mirror wasn't snugged down properly
2). The shifter lever was a little too low
3). The throttle return spring on the flat slides is too stiff
Ya know? After a complete revamp stem to stern, touching everything except the bottom end of the engine... I'm pretty happy with it. Items 1 & 2 can be solved easily!
Be safe everybody & enjoy riding season!

That is AWESOME! Glad to see you and Mrs. Slayer out on the vintage bikes. You did a great job to have such a short list of adjustments to make. Quite an accomplishment! Kudos to you!

Agreed^^ it turned out awesome! Easiest way i have found to negate the heavier pull of the RS carbs is a smaller diameter pulley on the throttle sleeve. the sacrifice is a longer pull to WOT.

It is with much sadness, that I must announce that, my Mrs. is ready to sell off her GPz. Look for it here and possibly on Craig's list locally.

She has been a Harley lady in the past. She might revert back to a Sportster. She has also made noise about ME getting a "Barcalounger" for both of us to ride!
