Z1R Custom was created by les holt
First pic is of the chassis and body work I'm starting with.
Although it looks pretty good it wasn't complete and frame has been cut on so I don't feel guilty doing more cutting although I'ts not going to be drastic.

Here is some prototyping I'm working on for an noninvasive single shock conversion.
My goal is to have as little welding done on frame as possible and not have to relocate anything.

Aint no one going to get the skinny on the whole setup till I decide on exactly what it is. I will say this, it's black, going to get some red, some orange, and some yellow added to the black.
Here's another pic.

"not have to relocate anything."... Yup!

Due to the way my shock fitted for travel that took me awhile to figure out no doubt.... Had to move things around quite a bit for I desired to have everything tucked behind side covers...

What swing arm did you end up going with?

not sure how rigid that swingarm would be without bracing underside B)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

The swingarm in the pic is donating it's life to research. That was one of my original arms built almost 20 years ago for an ltd 750. I managed to cut and weld on that thing for 3 hrs getting that shock in a good location for complete travel. So far I've been able to adjust both preload and compression rate just by changeing mounting holes for the actuator arms and lower shock mount. By totally doing away with the ZX6 hardware I was able to start with a clean slate. After much pondering I figured all it did was to amplify the springs travel rate. This is my setup to experiment with how it works now.
Understand that isn't the finished parts, just mockup parts to get the design to function as it did on the ZX6.

Here's another bike pic.
I'll post more as I get them but I work 20 days on, 1 day off. I only get 2 to 3 hours in the eve. to do anything and I have the motor apart waiting on part now.

Thanks, I just got it stripped down today and put on the chassis jig to change the neck, Putting 04 ZX6 frontend also. Have to do some frame bracing while its up there. I'll post more pics as I go.
