Yes, it was done on a jig just to make sure it was right. That frame was actually 1 of the straighter frames I've worked on.

yeah they tend to be a little tweaked especially the earl ones

Well thank you plummen! I ground the pocket where the neck went to fit good at 3 deg rake then jigged it up, tack top, bottom other side, top again, then bottome other side. The neck is fully welded in before the gussets were added, no pics, I was on a roll. Here's a pic from the back,

I hadn't thought about the lower tubing braces. I may take a look at doing that. I still have the braces in the backbone to do but that may be tomorrow.

I used free plans off the internet for the concept and made alot of changes. I made mine to mount on my bike lift which I also built right before the jig so was able to incorperate mounting pads. I can get some closer pics If needed. I know I'm able to do a 70 in. wheelbase chassis, Longer if I turn the axle locator around. If you look at the pic you can see the mounting pads on the side of the lift. The plates on the jig are slotted so I'm able to adjust level and square each time I set it up.

I think I'm actually going to get to use the Z1R front fender.:woohoo:
I'm going to have to modify the mounting a great bit but after the work I've done already I think it will happen.

Oh yeah, going all ZX6 brakes, only thing is making the front brake resivor setup look close to what one would think it should be. I'm going with billet top tree and using Z1R handle bars but putting the ZX6 controls on the ends.
We've been working so much at our paying jobs lately we both played hooky today, I know I'll pay for it, I'm swamped at work, but MAN am I glad I did. It was so nice to actually spend a whole day in the shop. I even got an outlet put in the ceiling above the lift and another light. This could get addicting:laugh:
