When you get the arm in place with the shock mounts all done, bolt your cases in the frame. On the right, rear side of the engine cases, there's a bolt boss that rubbed the swing arm on mine. I had to grind down the swing arm for clearance.
Be sure to have a look at yours As I recall, it was this one that rubbed. Don' grind the cases.

plummen where ya been?
larry, thanks for the heads up.
when centering my rear tire, whats the smartest way to go about it? i saw larry used a laser, and thats cool. but do you center the center of the tire, to the center of the rear frame? not really sure here.
also it seems i may have to fabricate new motor mounts.

That's affirmative on the new engine mount fabrication. For alignment, you need to make sure your rear wheel is parallel with your front wheel. It won't hurt to make sure your swingarm is level in the same plane as your frame.

i wonder if it would be easier to replace the whole cross member and mounts rather piecing it together.
id definately bolt the engine cases into the frame at as many points as possible once you know the frame is straight before doing any major welding to keep it from warping too much out of shape
