components for years, these use swivel compression fittings and many different kinds of banjos are available. Perfect for custom brake set-ups!

Nice work Sander You're soon going to be out of things to fiddle with....will your knee be ready by then
I hope so Larry. I can kinda sit on the bike, not quite a full foot on the pedal but getting there. But I can ride a bicycle now so it's loosening up- I rode 10 miles yesterday and the Doc has ok-ed me for light jogging. I've been going to the gym 4 times a week on top of PT. I'm working it...

I noticed while I was rebuilding my 75 Z1, alot of the parts are excessively heavy. One part in particular is the lower tree, I think it weighs 20 pounds! Did you swap yours out or is there an lighter (aluminum) replacement? I'd like to trim some of the fat from my bike, but at the same time I want it to look stock.

It's hard to trim fat off and have it look stock at the same time. The triple clamps (and forks) I used are off a police bike and no lighter than the stock clamp. Some of the later model 1000s had aluminum lower clamps but the top clamps and fork spacing are different so it will a) take a bunch of work to do a conversion and b) not look stock.
If you want to trim fat for better handling and stay fairly stock looking I'd focus on reducing unsprung weight: aluminum rims, EBC rotors would be a very nice start. For further weight reduction maybe pop the center stand off and get a smaller battery. None of those mods are irreversible.
