I mounted the pipe tonight. It was getting dark by the time I got done, shot a quick pic, I'll shoot some more tomorrow when it's light out.

Awesome job!!!! I'm definitely envious my man!

Three quick questions for you- I recently acquired a '76 KZ 900 and after reading this thread, I'm starting to get some dangerous ideas in my head! ;)

One: What fork brace did you use? Did you have to mod the lowers to fit it?

Two: What sort of dual disc front hub are you running?

Three: Your shocks are badass. Mind sharing the specs?

Thanks dude! Looking forward to more pics!

1. Before the front end swap, I was using a KZ900 or KZ650 fork brace. My old forks are Z1 with H1 sliders so I had to machine the fork sliders down a few mm to fit the brace. It should be much easier to find a brace for a KZ900, as fork spacing and dust seal size are the same for KZ650/900/1000 AFAIK.

2. Stock Z1 6-bolt hub.

3. They are Works Performance piggy backs, +1" IIRC.

Thanks Porchev914. No plans for production, though. Unless I can figure out how to bend my own primaries  How far does your shock linkage stick out and is it centered on the swingarm?

I am so excited to fire this up for the first time and HEAR the new pipe :woohoo:

First off, you HAVE to record a clip of what that thing sounds like.
My linkage is approx 3" below the frame, centered in the swingarm, but not quite centered in the frame. It's offset a little to the left..... Thats what she said :woohoo:

Well I don't know dude. It comes over right where the swingarm starts.
Here's a pic, that tape is centered on the arm as much as possible, with probably .5" clearance to the pipe.

Thanks for the pic- it looks like your fine custom exhaust wouldn't fit on my frame :( But it sure looks sexy!
