I made a saddle for the exhaust hanger. IMO you should not weld and exhaust hanger tab straight to the tailpipe, vibration will make it crack and fail. The saddle disperses the pressure and makes for a much stronger mounting point.

Couldn't agree more. Seen a few crack right off and leave a hole.

Thanks troy! Nope, that started life as an MRE airshifter bottle...

I forgot to shoot a close up picture of the bullet/vanes in the collector. I smoothed out the welds on those before tacking the collector in place. This is a before shot to jog the memory.

I don't think I've seen that before. Are all 4-into-1's like that, or only the good ones?

A little useless trivia- the bullets are also known as goillets.First ones I saw were on pipes built by Byron Hines or Dennis Murray, before disco.

OMR - the primaries are off a Wolf pipe I bought on ebay. they have nice soft bends and may well be hand bent. I bought my collector, transitions and a U bend from Cone. I just got the mild steel stuff since the whole pipe will be painted or coated anyway.

The bullets are supposed to increase flow. They also take up the star shaped gap in the center of the four primaries so you don't have to blow weld or plate that shut - you can see that real well on porchev's pic, my Yosh is the same way.

Trimmed up the tailpipe some more and tacked the transition cone to it.
These are the component sizes:
- primariess 1.5"
- collector 2"
- transition 2" to 2.5"
- bend 2.5"
- transition 2.5" to 3"
- megaphone 3" to 4" + race baffle

Marked the bend with some masking tape to get the rough angles. Then just grind away little by little on the big grinding wheel (to keep the ends square) until it slips in place.
