Starting now, in various countries. Logistics on how to collect, and how much, is open. It's getting messy.

What's going to even out? How packages are shipped across the world? How the duties are collected? The logistics have nothing to do with "evening out".
From the linked AP article...On Saturday, postal services around Europe announced that they are suspending the shipment of many packages to the United States amid confusion over new import duties.Postal services in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Italy said they will stop shipping most merchandise to the U.S. effective immediately. France and Austria will follow on Monday. The U.K.'s Royal Mail said it would halt shipments to the U.S. on Tuesday to allow time for those packages to arrive before duties kick in. Items originating in the United Kingdom worth over $100 — including gifts to friends and family — will incur a 10% duty, it said.

All I can say here is give it time.
Give what time? You are clearly being political here, alluding to Trump doing a good thing by imposing these tariffs, with some suggestion that life in the US is somehow going to improve.
Wookie, I'd like to ask for this thread to be locked. We have people here that won't stay on topic, and a political discussion is not what this forum is all about.

You've set up an impossible standard here Ed. I really don't think it's reasonable to expect a discussion of the repercussions of tariffs be free of underlying political tides.Nessism post=916357 userid=14026

You've complained that Steve's being political and then you up the ante with the most the most overtly political statement in this thread.
This is your topic but I'd like to respectfully ask you to widen your margins.
I'd like to see this thread hew toward the business issues of tariffs and be less concerned with the politics, if that's possible.

This now effects everything that is not CUSMA compliant except if you can prove it is a gift. To get your products to be listed as CUSMA compliant you need to do some government paperwork where there is a waiting period for approval and some costs to get it done.

I believe from the info I posted that the $800 threshold disappeared at the end of of August so thereafter duties will apply to all imports ?
Yep. Effective August 29, 2025, The United States has suspended its duty-free “de minimis” threshold of US$800 for all countries, including Canada. All postal shipments to the U.S. will require prepaid duties before your package crosses the border – regardless of their value or country of origin.
