It was a history book of my ancestors.  My friend is actually a 3rd cousin.  He and I share a great great grandfather who immigrated to Canada in 1848 from the Highlands of Scotland.  His great grandfather and mine were brothers, born in Canada.  His went to the Yukon in the gold rush and died there.  Mine got a girl half his age pregnant and married her.

I have some relatives that I have never met living in B.C. I was born in Glasgow but have relatives all over the UK including Ireland. I think those out in B.C. are a branch that immigrated in the 1890's. My family immigrated in 1965 so our Ontario branch is pretty small and recent. Canada was developed by immigrants and we should never forget that.

Heck, took me two hours of prompts and talking to persons that knew less then i about the Tariff total. My Wife finally had to step in and figure it out, bless her! Anyhoot Paid via credit before it arrives, hopefully. Not going to get political but Now i Feel the Pain of my European Friends/Lovers of the Z's i've incurred on them thru the years without actually having to go thru it!! As mentioned the courier attaches a "processing" fee. Steve..unfortunatally you are blazingly blind to the repercussions this will entail on the Whole Big picture. Still willing to rent YOU a Hooker though, ha. You cats do the math but it's about 1/3 overall incurred extras. Clay

It soon adds up !! - this is why a genuine DynaS is over $200 here in the UK and the copies are so popular
EDIT: looks like you guys are also paying more now production has moved back to the US (not as much as us though as that price in the UK is now $288

So, $105.62 in tariff costs on a $365 USD order?  Ouch.

No company in the US is going to start making those parts, so forget about "creating jobs in America" as reasoning.  It's just a money grab.

Yes the usa had it better then europe in this money grabing scheme.

The Japan tariff rate changes Tuesday, no clue what it will be, hoping 0%
Japan's tariff negotiator says the US's reciprocal tariffs will be lowered by next week
Japan's tariff negotiator said the US would revise tariffs on Japanese goods by September 16.
In an X post, he said there would be a reduction in Japanese automobile tariffs.
The tariff rate for goods from Japan stands at 15%, pre-revision.

That's a Fact Ed!! A rush of implementation of "Made in America" is a farce, isn't a chance in heck that we as a SOFT society can comply. Kids these days want to isolate their physical presence from anything dirty or demanding. Sorry for the truth.

Like Zappa said "Anything over a mouthful is wasted."   As for buying things from cirtain countries I'll fix what I have or wait until the dust settles. You're wrong about the new generation, like all of us there still are ones that want to work and as for the rest they will soon have to.   Yes there are some that are taking advantage of the situation. That will change as well.
I prefer to look at the positive sides and let the negative deal with themselves.

Also quoting the Zappa, want a party attend College want an education go to the Library. Persons can get easily swayed by a "mob mentality", therefore i don't favor the Left or Right. Both dummer then a satchel of snails. What i do is favor the correctness. Sometimes regardless of affiliate, both can be incorrect. Case in point, wife out mowing the South portion. Note this is a Kubota, where do you think the parts come from? Hate to say it "WE" aren't tooled-up to provide even a simple knuckle joint for such a machine. And who do you suppose is going to undertake such a proposition?? Same as the little riding/finish mowers. This picture depicts a Briggs and Stratton right? Well the only equivalent to the Vanguard is the Intek "Made in the USA" The Intek is the biggest pile of shite briggs ever produced. You'll find them at every box-store around every corner. The Vanguard on the other hand was made by a division of Toyota, Japanese, Bulletproof design. Some goes for the Kawasaki utilitarian engines, used to be made in Japan, now made in USA--CRAP. They all display the made in USA  now but i know what goes on inside them, work thru them daily. So, while i might not concur with your thoughts, i LIVE it, not vicariously thru some mind numbing broadcast. Always investigate and live thru such opinions before slinging re-pete. Still Love You Steve and seasons are about to change in Your favor as to not swelter, ha.

My Scot relatives arrived in 1848 on a 2 masted sailing ship with 417 people onboard .  They were a later part of the Highland clearances where the Duke of Sutherland contracted 4 ships and offered free passage for those willing to leave.  Not a lot of people are aware that the potato blight caused famine in Scotland as well as Ireland, and was a major motivator for people to leave.  They arrived just as the Bruce was opening for homesteads so there are many Scot descendants in that area.  From that group I now have over 20,000 people around the world that share DNA, and that's just the ones on Ancestry.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar.
