I haven't used them, I just bookmarked the site when I was researching this myself.

Thanks for this refrence. After reading a little more I dont think the HEI mod will work since you would need two of them. I was hoping to keep the stock VR sensors and use off the shelf hardware to drive the ignition. The best way seems to use a wheel and hall sensor. Here is the section I was looking at.

It would probably work if the bikes reluctor had 4 teeth.

For programmable ignition controlled by MS2 for up to four coils, see 4-Channel Ignition/Injection Driver Board , which also allows sequential four cylinder injection.

Lots of add-ons available :)

Ok Steell, I'll check that out. Looks like this may be the answer to the trigger wheel problem.

Are you going to install a cam position sensor and do sequential injection?

I dont have sequential injection planned yet. Im going to start simple and work my way out. Maybe 2 banks? I might just skip the spark control and just get the fuel done first. Do you know if you can drive the MSII off a tach signal to begin with?

Yep, a tach signal will work for batch injection.

Im going to use this circuit to combine the coils to trigger the megasquirt since I have 2 VR pickups and two coils running wasted spark. This is for a fuel only setup. Later I will do the ignition. The other way to do this is to is to tell MSII that your engine is a 2 cylinder.

Found the info here

and here

Thinking about grabbing some 30lb injectors off a turbo SAAB or Volvo. I hear they can be made to fit the gpz throttle bodies and are good for up to 200hp.

Changed my code on the MSII to ms2extra 3.1.0 and using Tunerstudio MS lite 1.14 and changed user level to fuel only to simplify things.

ignition on a bike is difficult, I ran a missing toothed wheel and had bad starting, I believe it has to do with the crank not turning at a constant speed while turning the motor on the starter.
I am running fuel only at the moment using a dyna s for ignition.
I have the components and have made up an aluminium timing wheel that will hold magnets, this is Arrtu's design and it uses the same timing plate to give both sensor inputs by running one magnet reversed in the plate. Arrtu has run this setup in a few 4cly bikes and it works flawlessly. Have a look through the info below.

Thanks for the info Dave. Where did you get the stuff for Arrtu's setup? I am really hoping to figure out a way to use the factory VR pickups since they work currently and reliably. Like using the tach circuit to combine the two signals into one. Do you know if this has been done before? Maybe passing the signal to a factory module HEI or the Bosh unit that can run COP and be controlled by the Megasquirt ecu.

Eventually I want to transfer everything to this:

Ah! The ubiquitous Mr Fluffy! I met him on the 750turbo board and have run into him on numerous sites since. He's cool :)

Got a machine shop in his garage also.
