Seafoam causing carb problem??

I am working on my 82 Gpz 750 project and cleaned the tank again after finding rusty gas after the first clean. After evaporust, vinegar and then a power wash the inside looked clean. I put in 16 oz of Seafoam to help suck up any left over moisture - after using a leaf blower to dry it out. I left the Seafoam in and filled it with about 2 gal of gas. Now it won't start. Won't even make a rumble. I looked at the Seafoam bottle and it said 1 0z per gallon. I put in 16 oz for 2 gallons. Who reads directions?? Would this be why it won't start???

I will add that I just rebuilt the carbs with a rebuild kit, that the floats are balanced and the carbs are bench synded. It ran strong for about 10 miles prior to latest tear down - last weekend. I figured I was probably running rich so when I took off the carbs I cleaned them again (in case any rust got in jets) and then checked float level.

Drain the tank and carbs, put in new gas, then see what happens. Plugs might be fouled too.

I was thinking the same thing. I will also check plugs.

The bike is not going to run with that super-high concentration of Seafoam in the fuel. Dump that contaminated gas and refill the tank with new gas without Seafoam. Next time read the label FIRST! Ed

Ha - read the label!! That will never happen. I have a long history of doing things first and then reading directions. Kind of like cut twice, measure once.

I drained the tank and the bowls. Put in fresh fuel. Nothing. Still won't even make a rumble. Could I have fouled the plugs by trying to start it with the seafoam. I pulled a plug and it looked clean - how do i tell if if is fouled?

It's something else. Clogged pilots?

The 1oz is for everyday usage they say on their site to start with 2oz and increase for cleaning and you can't use to much...... I've read somewhere that 4oz is ok so you could a filled the tank and been ok......... like Steve says something else..... hope you put that 2 gal in your car.

I hope it is not clogged pilots. I cleaned them again before putting back together yesterday. I checked the fuel coming out of the bowl and it was clean. I also put in a fuel filter. When I drained the gas from the tank it was clean.

Check for spark.
