You cannot file the valve stem tip.
It needs to be ground perfectly square using the correct valve stem grinding machine fixture or a lathe.

You will also need to take the head at the same time and provide the machinist with the minimum and maximum stem height service limits and the minimum distance from the stem tip to the collet groove ( all found in the factory service manual).

I bolted the camshaft in the best I could for taking a valve measurement and I had no clearance. There was a 245 in there and smallest I had is a 230 so I put that in and still no clearance so off to the shop to get some smaller sizes

You might get a 200 while you're at it If you're lucky you'll be in the 210-220 range. My intake are in the 230 range but the exhaust are in the 210-220. I wish I had checked.

Does anyone have a 2.00 shim to lend for measuring purposes?? Never mind I'm gonna take my head in and have him cut the stem to fit within specs so I don't have to use a 2

Well still no clearance with the stem cut and a 230 shim. Got to go to a smaller shim now
