You're getting a good supply of fuel, the same response with multiple carbies, with or without an airbox.

It's probably not carby related in this case, as I would expect things to change as soon as you change the carby. However, your plug is black, which means you are running rich. But if you've been using the choke, that's to be expected.

I'd be looking for an air leak, maybe a carb vent or your inlet not sealing correctly. After that, things get much more complicated, as you'll need to start looking at timing (which you said you already have with no effect). Next step is the engine itself - I think you're due for a compression test.

If I turn the choke on it dies...I put grease around the intake boot between the head an boot an around the diaphragm seal between the carb an top cover....in going to do a compression test today wahat psi should it have?

The carbs have been cleaned 7 times or more, at least 4 different carburetors have been installed, and you've tried removing the muffler, making a pod airbox & duct taping the pod filters. This is why elr658 from another forum usually suggests taking a phillips head screwdriver, heating it to red hot, them jamming it in your eye, as it would be less painful than trying to tune cv carburetors for individual filters. :laugh:

Lol it's a single sulinder engine I thought it would be stupid simple to work on......I was wrong I so,t had this much trouble with my 76 cb750
