The intake i have is just a cone with a screen not really a filter. Do you think pods will do the same in making it run horrible. I don't want to go backwards. And also know that they are not the xheapest things either

If it runs better without the intake - contrary to what I said earlier, maybe try going leaner, dropping the needle if possible or a smaller mainjet.

For testing and diagnostics, running open carbs is ok but for road use some sort of filtration is necessary long term.

Cheapo Pods are pretty rubbish for that - my 550 was missing and it turned out to be (among other things) too much K & N oil on the filters. I solvent cleaned then and then could see straight through them. I inch chicken wire would probably do the same thing.

If you want to get good mileage, go for pods. If you keep the same system, leaner might be good.
What a jetting nightmare.

Check your cylinder head tourque when cold, you should do that anyway after a new gasket. The can let go quite a lot more than you might think.

You may also have an ignition problem affecting one coil that only shows up when the engine is under load, sometimes bad connections on the electrics will do this and are difficult to trace. Also ignition and fuelling problems can show similar symptoms.

This is a 750 twin so your problem is not in the ignition coil (there is only one coil on the 750 twin). You still have carborator problems. Either dirt in the small passages or a damaged diaphragm.

BTW, whenever I had a bike come into my shop, I always bought a manual if I didn't have one. Just the cost of doing business.

I cant agree more on needing a manual. Factory manual is best imo, others will suffice if you cant get the factory one
