That's quite a sensible question for you. The fuel is also pressurised. On a carb system the carbs are pressurised by boost and so is the fuel supply. On a fuel injection system an electric pump provides the fuel at a constant pressure above boost pressure.

To resolve all these issues, you could just do a draw through system by having a larger, single carb and place it on the inlet side of the carb. Blow through carbs on the other hand have a few perks, but require a few modifications to essentially pressurize the carbs completely which includes vents. This way the carb still "sees" the pressure differential across the carb and pull the fuel from the bowl.

To answer your question, on a naturally aspirated engine, air speed is crucial to keep the fuel atomized in the charge by keeping the charge fast enough so the fuel droplets don't drop out. It is also crucial to cylinder filling at low engine speeds. You put larger carbs on a na motor, you typically lose low speed torque but gain top end power. Now due to a turbo forcing air into the engine, the charger is supply the velocity, so you don't need the smaller carbs provide this via a reduced cross sectional area. Now you want the largest, properly sized, carb so you don't allow the carb to become a critical flow choke point.

hahaha you guys answered all the questions and stole my thunder lol. but yes that sums it up. and im using one flatside carb. hsr 42. and draw thru method.

42? if you started with4 29's wouldn't that be going backwards? carter afb or a quadrajet would be my best suggestion. :woohoo:

you may be able to find a similar bore throttle setup/fuel injection from a newer cycle.
