That's the other problem with a mint low mileage "stocker", you will never want to ride it any distance - go Swest it's great to see some one really riding these bikes :)

1978 KZ1000A2 Wiseco 1075 kit
1977 KZ650B1
1973 Triumph Tiger TR7V
1968 BSA Victor Special 441
2015 Triumph Thunderbird LT
1980 Suzuki SP400

Old enough to know better, still too young to care

Nice! Even more value. Cycle Works cams, Do I detect a little relief cut into the head at the valve bucket in 1 of the pictures? (hey do this for overlapping with the cam lobe at high RPM's. I don't know the # of the cam from what you posted. There will be a stamp in the ends of the camshafts were those blue Manley plugs are. But nice drop in cams in excellent shape. Also heavy duty cam chain with aftermarket cam sprockets, though not adjustable. The crank is welded too, I bet seeing the case was apart for Heavy Duty cam chain
Very clean inside, no burnt oil! Odds are in your favor of aftermarket pistons. The oil cooler helped a lot also.
If you can't title it? Take it to your local dragstrip and beat the hell out of it! Are you a Drag race fan? Even dirt or sand drags.
Were are you located?
Boy, I would have loved to find and buy that cycle! I had one pretty close to that 4 years ago. Sold for a nice profit! Gave me white knuckles trying to beat it up on the street.
Someone built that bike right many years ago!

Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!

Dave might be right. Those might be high lift cams. Being it's been sitting I take the head off and put in new Viton valve guide seals and relieve that area as well. Chance to see what pistons are in there too. B)

You know what is interesting, there are no other marks where other lobes have hit the head, would there be if walked right?

Also, that #1 intake lobe has a more pronounced casting than the others, stands very proud of the side of the lobe, In other words, the top of the lobe doesn't seem like it hit the head, I believe it was the casting on the side of the lobe. Make sense?

Not enough clearance was ground on the head.
I'd pull the head strip it and put the cams in no spring's or valve's and check all lope's.

Thanks. I won't get that far into it until I figure out if I can title the bike.
