for the heck of it..... I put my old 14 tooth on ..... Holy Hell!!
The difference from the 16/35 to 14/35 felt like +25 HP ! RPMs were just too much so I'm back to the old we'll worn 15/35.
Hence the reason I ordered up the new chain and 15/35 combo.

Yeah, I didn't like 5000 RPM at 70. 4000 is much better. 14? That's for drag racing.

I run 18/33 on 530 chain, went 9.30's @156 on pump gas, street ridden.

15/29 or 16/31 puts you close but that's turbo type gearing.

Les, you're putting out a lot more ponies than me.
Got what I needed to drop the pan and extract the crap. I expected the strainer to be full of it. Not too bad. I flushed the oil as soon as I put it together and after 100 miles. Still a lot of SHT in there but very little on the screen.




I was dreading what I would find.
I'll probably change the oil again. Rotilla is cheap, a motor is not.

Why not put the swing gate in while its apart.
You can make one out of a small door hinge for next to nothing

Not needed at this time. Weather is cooler so a oil cooler isn't needed ether. Got a new tire to put on, carb holders, finish jetting with my new color tune, top box and a 400 mile trip next week to take care of some unfinished business. Got a thief to catch.
The rest can wait.

Let us know how you get on with that colortune. My experience with it has been that it's only slightly better than nothing.

Yeah, it will probably only confirm what I suspected anyway. Could help identify a electrical miss tho.
