Yes, the fairing still need some black paint,..and of course some little gold lines on top flanges,...but it´s to close on saison start, and my painter is very busy on work and need a lot of time to fix it,..so i must wait for next off-season to get it ready painted....sometimes ya can´t get it all  ;-)

I've decided to lower the fairing and headlights by 41 mm! To do this, I shortened a couple of old, used original headlight mounts by 41 mm at the bottom. At the top, I'll replace the missing spacer for the clamp with 41 mm long tube pieces made of machined aluminum...at least, that's the plan. You can clearly see this idea in the slightly edited picture I made; I think it just looks "better", will say, more "sportive",... (at least to me ;-)

((The shorted headlight mounts are now ready,...i still waiting for the aluminum tube, to cut it and work on it on my lathe,..final polishing is also planned...i`ll keep you informed ;-)

Thanx,..I agree, Guy..( I had planned to do it that way from the beginning, but I didn't have any other lamp holders on hand, and I didn't want to shorten the already installed, very good pair, so I had to wait until something like that came along....

( Whenever I have an idea or a plan to change or construct something, I simply work with images, screenshots, which I edit according to my wishes and ideas using the simple "Paint" program. This way, I can best see and judge what it might look like "finished." I did the same thing in January with the picture of the beautiful green Z1000 from Norway....see image following:

I agree with wookie and Kimchella. I looks much better when it is lower. More planted.  I looking forward to see how you do this.I will do the same on my bike
i have already mounted a lower handlebar but that is because of pain in the back but also need to do it if i will install the viperfairing. Today when i was replacing
forkoil to a softer 5w oil i tested another type of fairing the "mini bikini" type ,but that will look stupid  i think but i will see.

Thank you fellows,
yeah, it has disturbed my eyes from the beginning, as i mounted it in the "higher" position,..but it was the only solution, i´ve had in the first time, and i had want to ride withit,..and now, i´ve got the 2. pair  of headlight-mounts, i can do it right to my taste about the lineup that i really like.. ;-)

I just spent two hours "quickly" dismantling the original lamp holders...damn, they were extremely firmly rusted onto the fork tubes! I had to carefully cut the second one open; I had no other choice...but that's done now. The aluminum tube should arrive today, so I think it'll be ready by the beginning of next week.

Just got the info from  f***`n DPD:  They can´t do it today, they will come again..ha! ..Not my favorite parcel service,..again..!

I had a quarter fairing on my bike in the wreck in 86. I put the bike down on the left side leaving a J skid mark in the intersection before it went under the 17' stake bed truck and came out the other side landing in the field on the corner. My RT shoulder hit the front tire on the truck as I followed the bike out the other side and landed next to it. No helmet or jacket my RT Rotator was broken along with a broken LFT ankle and a badly sprained RT one. The faring was a fiberglass one that came off a Suzuki that came apart cutting the FK out of me including cutting me a new A**hole. I was lucky it didn't make me a eunuch as well. It was 6/13/86 on a Friday. I loved that fairing but I'll never have another one. The one I have now is a one piece that will break away and my riding posture is different. With this one I can sit up at a ton and my back no longer hurts on long rides. I no longer CYN carve along with the other stupid SHT I use to do when I was in my terrible 20/30's. Funny thing all I remember is the 17' stake bed truck, putting the bike down sideways and waking up on my back in the dirt. It was over 100* , the guys in the truck poured out their water cooler around me and made shade for me with a tarp. All and all I was very lucky not being killed or worse. I still don't ride on Friday the 13 and never will.

A real pain when you are waiting to do something, but at least you have the weekend ahead.😁😁 I was supposed to be working this weekend, but the vinyl layers did not do their job yesterday, so I couldn’t fit the kitchen. Will now have to work days and nights to get it done so the customer can move in 😩😩
On the plus side, at least I can work on my bike 👍👍👍

Yes, sometimes one shitty thing after another comes along that you can't use...but as long as it's just "mechanical" problems, there's always some kind of solution.

Bad story, Steve, and luckily it ended reasonably well for you...I personally know enough about that sort of thing...I've had plenty of serious accidents in my life, luckily not on motorcycles...
