Had a bit of spare time today so got the swingarm bearings in and the back wheel on. Didn't have enough time to work on the engine - valves/cams are up next so I can't be on a clock like I was today.

The black swinger with the shiney wheel and shocks is a nice contrast that really works (IMHO)

Thanks. I'm hoping I hit a good balance of black to shiny stuff. Will know when the front end and exhaust are done...

Forks are back together. Brake calipers are on as well but my phone died so no pics yet.

Got a bit more done today. Got the starter back together and the stator wired up. Then I spent a while just grabbing stuff off the shelves and putting it on the bike. Was a bit warmer today so I got the front fender repainted. Clear coat will need a light sand and polish but it looks pretty good. Will get some pics in daylight tomorrow.
Got the valves back in as well so I can check the clearance and degree the cams in the next couple of days.

Hard to take good photos at the moment as I cracked the camera lense on my phone...

I spent the weekend in the booth. It was far from dust-free so I just put a layer of clear over the candy that I can sand down to even things out before applying the stripes. I waited almost 2 hours before putting the clear on the tail but still got a tiny bit of solvent pop which I spent this evening sanding out (thankfully didn't cut into the candy anywhere). After that I left the clear off the tank until tomorrow - 24 hours should be enough time for the candy to air out

I have three options for the stripes: the ones I had on before I sanded everything down, the classic cafe racer stripes on the tail in the pic below, or the standard 1000A1 stripes in the same yellow. I'll try out the first two and take some photos, then get everything prepped and put the A1 stripes on (I only have one set and I can redo the others with tape). WIll post the photos when I'm done. After that it's just another couple of coats of clear and I'm done with the bodywork.

Do you guys mean the ones on the side like in the picture below? I'd describe the ones on the tail now as "centre" stripes.

OK, the "from the first time" confused me a bit... I'll see how it looks tomorrow, but I think I agree with you guys.
